Union Pacific plans to construct a new $400 million rail facility near Santa Teresa, New Mexico. The facility will include fueling facilities, crew change buildings, an intermodal block swap yard, and intermodal ramp. It will create 3,000 construction jobs and over 600 permanent jobs. Once completed, the facility is expected to generate $500 million in economic impact for New Mexico and position the state as a strategic location for goods movement in the southwestern U.S.
