The document outlines seven principles for businesses to follow to support sustainable and equitable food and agriculture systems: 1) optimize production and minimize waste to ensure global food security and nutrition, 2) responsibly manage natural resources and the environment, 3) create and share economic value across supply chains, 4) respect human rights and improve livelihoods, 5) behave legally and transparently, 6) promote access to knowledge and technology, and 7) commit to these principles by reporting progress annually. The principles were developed through multi-stakeholder consultations to provide a framework for business collaboration with the UN and other partners.
