#29 Here is where it all changed for me – photographing La Machine – realised there was good stuff going on worth documenting – Capital of Culture as a turning point – Liverpool group on Flickr – thought about an exhibition – meetings – Ship & Mitre
#30 Discussion – something that we could never do online – here is where social media has its benefits and drawbacks – decided that we more than just an exhibition – but we had more to offer.
#31 Fab was born – we built a brand – and teased it out to start with – the 2 nd Fab tweet (1 st one just said hello)
#32 So, we built a website - Fab website – Wordpress blog – open source – uses a modified open source theme called Unstandard – Can see some of the projects we’ve done. 2 exhibitions in St Luke’s
#33 Very proud of the HH project – working with the homeless community on a photography and music based project – built self confidence and let loose some real creativity – some of them even uploaded to flickr
#34 Just one of the shots – it was a thoroughly great project – it puts right where we want to be as part of the community – both artistic and social
#35 So, we set up a forum – be careful out there – people have died in here – there has been war
#36 Seriously – it needs to be considered. There may or may not be a swear filter at work there.
#39 The website has a gallery system so that people can see what we’ve been doing.
#40 In action – sucks shots directly from flickr – so always up to date with zero maintenance – same for the Lifestream page
#41 Where social media is going – many websites and apps make sharing easier - Tumblr
#42 Blipfoto – 1 shot a day – sort of like a journal – uploading images from phone or pc – all dead easy
#43 Tumblr – cool for collaborating – just needs an email address to post – Evoked potential
#44 Instagram – popular atm – another way of sharing photos
#45 Ultimately – its about having a conversation – getting people to engage with us. As photographers, the sharing part is important from a development POV – as creatives we simply want people to see what we do.
