Excessive technology use in schools poses health risks to students such as eye strain, posture problems, disrupted sleep, depression, and lack of confidence. Digital detox programs that promote decreased and more balanced technology use can help address these issues by increasing self-regulation, reducing depression and anxiety, and allowing for mental rejuvenation through more balanced online and offline activities. Some schools have implemented "digital detox camps" to help students disconnect from technology.
