It can be forced by natural disasters, economic factors, or warfare, and involves a permanent or semi-permanent relocation rather than a temporary move. Examples include people walking or floating across the Bering Strait from Russia to North America thousands of years ago, and those moving from rural areas in the southern US to cities in the North.
