A Guide to Properly Migrating a CMS: The Rainbow EditionKristina Azarenko
In this talk, I will concentrate on a particular migration type, switching content management systems — as this specific type has its own challenges. I will show you what you need to know before moving to another CMS, what issues you will face, and the exact steps to overcome these issues.
The document discusses metadata strategies for DITA content at an enterprise scale. It introduces the [A] Content Intelligence Framework, which separates structure and semantics using a Master Content Model and Master Semantic Model. The framework maximizes investments in DITA by enabling metadata-enriched, structured content to be delivered across multiple channels. The document also reviews DITA's built-in metadata and semantic mechanisms and their strengths and weaknesses for implementing metadata at scale.
The content engineering function is now critical to successful Customer Experience Management. Content engineering plays a central role in delivering relevant and accurate content designed to deliver personalized experiences across multiple channels, at every touch point across the brand. Content Engineering bridges business strategy and content strategy with design and implementation. Missing any part of the continuum introduces unsustainable project risk for CEM initiatives.
This talk challenges marketers, technologists and content creators to rethink the way they create, manage, and deliver content experiences.

This document discusses the challenges of monolithic CMS systems and proposes a "dissolved CMS" approach using a microservices architecture. Key points include:
- Monolithic CMS systems do not meet the needs of digital businesses that require integrations across systems.
- A dissolved CMS would use independent, specialized microservices for authoring, content storage, delivery, and other functions. Content would flow between these loosely coupled services.
- AWS provides services like Lambda that could implement the underlying infrastructure for a dissolved CMS approach in a scalable way.
- Authoring remains a challenge that needs an integrated, in-context solution to provide a unified experience for content creators.

Defining Our Profession, Defining Ourselves at CSSummit14Margot Bloomstein
What’s in a name—and does it constrain or empower us? As “content strategy” evolves as an industry, so too do the areas of expertise individual practitioners offer and our clients expect. Is that a problem, or an opportunity? Can we grapple with our terminology to broaden the profession without losing its relevance? And do we run the risk of diluting the meaning? We’ll discuss the responsibility and opportunity in how we define our industry and the areas of specialty it can comprise.
Presented at Environments for Humans Content Strategy Summit, #CSSummit, August 19, 2014.
- The document discusses the need for content strategists and clients to precisely define what content strategy is and what they need from it.
- It suggests that clear definitions will help avoid frustration during hiring and project work, reduce expensive rework, and improve the reputation of "content strategy".
- Having diverse but specific definitions that acknowledge differences can help the industry grow through specialization while communicating what individuals and clients need.

Essentials of Automations: Exploring Attributes & Automation ParametersSafe Software
Building automations in FME Flow can save time, money, and help businesses scale by eliminating data silos and providing data to stakeholders in real-time. One essential component to orchestrating complex automations is the use of attributes & automation parameters (both formerly known as “keys”). In fact, it’s unlikely you’ll ever build an Automation without using these components, but what exactly are they?
Attributes & automation parameters enable the automation author to pass data values from one automation component to the next. During this webinar, our FME Flow Specialists will cover leveraging the three types of these output attributes & parameters in FME Flow: Event, Custom, and Automation. As a bonus, they’ll also be making use of the Split-Merge Block functionality.
You’ll leave this webinar with a better understanding of how to maximize the potential of automations by making use of attributes & automation parameters, with the ultimate goal of setting your enterprise integration workflows up on autopilot.

Chris Jones, Director of Product Management at BrainChip , presents the “Temporal Event Neural Networks: A More Efficient Alternative to the Transformer” tutorial at the May 2024 Embedded Vision Summit.
The expansion of AI services necessitates enhanced computational capabilities on edge devices. Temporal Event Neural Networks (TENNs), developed by BrainChip, represent a novel and highly efficient state-space network. TENNs demonstrate exceptional proficiency in handling multi-dimensional streaming data, facilitating advancements in object detection, action recognition, speech enhancement and language model/sequence generation. Through the utilization of polynomial-based continuous convolutions, TENNs streamline models, expedite training processes and significantly diminish memory requirements, achieving notable reductions of up to 50x in parameters and 5,000x in energy consumption compared to prevailing methodologies like transformers.
Integration with BrainChip’s Akida neuromorphic hardware IP further enhances TENNs’ capabilities, enabling the realization of highly capable, portable and passively cooled edge devices. This presentation delves into the technical innovations underlying TENNs, presents real-world benchmarks, and elucidates how this cutting-edge approach is positioned to revolutionize edge AI across diverse applications.

All content ROI emerges
from motion: content that
flows between producers,
humans, or robots.
Content in motion is content that matters

What is a Master Content Model?
What does it look like & why is it important?
A single model that defines how all content assets will be
structured throughout the complete content lifecycle

What is a Master Content Model?
What does it look like & why is it important?
A content model is focused on
structure. It accommodates semantics
and facilitates the creation, exchange
and utilization of semantic value.

AI is the new UI
We will TALK with a lot of our
content. AI is becoming the new
User Interface (UI). Lots of
content discovery will start with
mobile, voice-based,
AI-mediated questions.
86. @mrcrucesimplea.com
AI is the new IA, too
AI is also becoming the new
Information architecture. IA, the way a
user gets around our digital properties,
will be optimized in real-time by AI
based on the in-session content
interaction data. Bespoke, fluid
experiences will become the new
normal.
87. @mrcrucesimplea.com
Dumb content will be dumped content
We will grow less patient with
dumb content. We will expect it
to be smart, available in multiple
forms, and personalized for our
needs. Dumb, single channel
content will receive less and less
mindshare from anyone or
any-bot.
88. @mrcrucesimplea.com
Don’t let other robots take over (our customers)
Organizations should not play
chicken with the future. Invest
in engineering content now
before competitors’ robots steal
customer mindshare.
89. @mrcrucesimplea.com
Start with a Model First mindset
The evolution towards intelligent
content depends on orchestrating
authoring, management, and publishing
with a Master Content Model.
The Model exists independent of
technology.
