This document summarizes a survey of continuing dental education programs in Europe. The survey found that continuing education is mandatory in over half of European countries and voluntary in the others. Evaluation systems exist in about a quarter of countries, and sanctions for noncompliance are discussed in about a third. There is a trend toward making continuing education mandatory across Europe and having national authorities and associations take more responsibility for programs. However, many questions around equivalency between countries' programs remain unanswered.
Challenges and hurdles to implement e health in developing countriesMandirola, Humberto
Health informatics has the potential to show improve-ments in security and quality of patient's care, but its spread has some differences between developed and de-veloping countries. Related to this, the objective of this study is to know which are the challenges and hurdles to improve eHealth in developing countries. We surveyed experts to evaluate their opinion about 5 general ques-tions: economic support by Government for eHealth, Government education or training projects in the field, issues related to cultural or educational problems for the implementation of eHealth, policies in terminology or messaging standards and eHealth status policies for long periods.

The pilot sites report their findings for end of life care communication skills
22 September 2010 - National End of Life Care Programme
This report provides the first round of feedback from a training needs analysis (TNA) pilot project, set up to support the development of communication skills training for all those working in end of life care.
It provides some early outcomes and learning from 12 pilot sites around the country, each of which carried out its own local workforce TNA. We hope these initial findings will be useful to other organisations planning to carry out a TNA themselves, or to support the development of EoLC training plans. A series of 'top tips' are summarised in the document.
