The Sequim Lavender Festival is an annual three-day celebration held in Sequim, Washington over the third weekend in July. Sequim is known as the Lavender Capital of North America due to its ideal climate for growing lavender and 200 years of experience among local farmers. The festival offers tours of seven lavender farms, family activities, and generates an estimated $3.6 million in economic impact for the local community by attracting 30,000 visitors from around the world.

Sequim is located in the beautiful Dungeness Valley, (just 60 miles west of Seattle and a ferry ride from Victoria,
B.C.) on Washington State’s Olympic Peninsula cradled between the Olympic Mountains, featuring the world-famous
Olympic National Park, and the Straight of Juan De Fuca.
Description:
The 13th Annual Sequim Lavender Festival is the premier
celebration of the joys of lavender and the largest lavender
festival in North America. Sequim is located on Washington
State’s Olympic Peninsula, cradled in the “rain shadow” of the
Olympic Mountains and Olympic National Park. The Sequim-
Dungeness Valley has an ideal microclimate for growing
lavender and with less than 20 inches of rain per year, the
area is similar to the Provence region of France. Because of
the unique conditions and dedicated farmers, Sequim lavender
has received world-wide recognition for its superior quality and
fragrance. Our farmers have over 200 years of combined
experience cultivating lavender, developing the best planting
and growing practices, and creating lavender products.
Tickets:
A $15 ticket provides admission to all Seven Farms on Tour for all 3 days of the festival. Children 12 and under are
free. Includes free shuttle service and discounts on community events with a festival ticket.
History:
The Sequim Lavender Growers Association began in 1995 when a group of passionate gardeners sought to restore
the agricultural heritage of the fertile Sequim valley. SLGA, a nonprofit tax-exempt corporation, has now grown into a
remarkable association that grows and supports the production of premium lavender. Through their dedication, these
lavender farmers are not only helping to preserve the agricultural legacy but also have established Sequim as the
“Lavender Capital of North America.”

The Festival has a measured economic impact of 3.6 million dollars on the area.
Attendance & Demographics:
An Estimated 30,000 visitors come from all 50 states and over 55 countries.
70% of attendees are female, more than half are over 50, 28% between the ages of 36 &
50.
More than half of attendees are college grads with a household income of $75,000 or
greater.
63% of attendees traveled more than 50 miles (23% from over 200 miles).
