Question 6
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of
                  constructing the products?

• Throughout making my final media product I have learnt more
about different technologies. Throughout my coursework I had to
research different things about magazines, throughout this I got to
visit a lot of different websites that I perhaps wouldn’t of if I wasn’t
doing this course. I found out a lot of information about different
magazines through doing this research, I also learnt more about
audiences and what they wanted from music magazines from my
primary and secondary research. I learnt that the internet actually
has all of the information that you need on it and whenever you
need to find out more information about something you perhaps
have never studied it is very helpful. I had never researched into
magazines before, I think that this task was good because I got to
do something that I had never done before and I was able to learn a
  lot more via the internet.
• For my product I also had to use editing sites such as; Adobe Photoshop
and Adobe Illustrator. I learnt more about these as I had to do a lot of
editing in order to make sure that my images were suitable for what I
wanted to use on my final piece. Adobe Photoshop helped me to improve
my images, and also by doing this I had to learn more about editing and I
think by trying to make my image look correct I learnt a lot more about
different editing skills. I also used Adobe Illustrator, here I learnt more
about creating magazine front pages, contents pages and double sided
spreads. At the beginning I thought that it was very difficult in order to use
as I hadn’t used it before I found it confusing. However after more and
more practise I knew a lot more about it and I was able to ensure that my
final piece actually looked like a magazine. I now think that Adobe
Illustrator is very straight forward and easy to use. I have also learnt that
editing programmes such as these are there in order to improve your
work, and also that more work goes into making a magazine then most
  people genuinely first think.
