This document summarizes the European Union's role in development cooperation. It notes that 2015 is the European Year of Development, with the EU and its member states being the largest donors of official development assistance. The EU plays a coordinating role between donors and can set ambitious objectives to address global development challenges. The EU's development activities are aligned with other policy areas like humanitarian aid, environment, security, and trade. The ultimate goals of EU development policy are reducing and eradicating poverty. Examples are given of EU support to developing countries and disaster relief efforts.

2. This year 2015 is devoted to the European
Year of Development
It means the main interest of the European
Union is aimed at developing countries
and people who are in need
The European Union (EU) and its
Member States are the largest donors
of official development assistance

3.  Together, in 2014, the EU provided aid to
developing countries of €56.5 billion
 The EU plays a role in coordinating the
actions of the different donors. Thanks to
its supranational dimension, it can set
ambitious joint objectives and map out
comprehensive solutions to global
development challenges. In the current
economic climate, avoiding duplication
makes more sense than ever.

4.  The EU has the critical weight to respond to global
challenges. The EU’s development activities are
coordinated with its efforts in other fields, such as
humanitarian aid, environment, security and trade policy.
 The Treaty of Lisbon has further strengthened the legal
basis for EU development cooperation. It clearly states
that the reduction and the eradication of poverty are the
primary objectives of the Union’s development
cooperation policy. Further, there are supported children
without education, countries where there have been
natural disasters, wars, serious illnesses (AIDS, plague,
ebola,...), development of agriculture, trade and industry
 The EU is a great donor and a supporter to developing
countries all over the world.

5. Slovak students supported children who
are out of school, there are still 58 million
children without elementary education, so
we made a film to support these children
and we are going to write letters to world
leaders of G7 (the richest countries of the
world) to support these children

children out of schools

to developing countries with Slovak

10. We have supported people suffering in
Nepal after a great earthquake, we sent
them donating sms-es

14. We are sure, our activities are worth and
they support people who are in need
Help is needed every day
We have to show our humanity
Nobody knows, when he will need help
The strong are here to help the weaker,
the rich should support the poor!
We believe these activities make us more
human and better people 
