Royal Enfield is planning to set up a new production facility to increase its monthly motorcycle production capacity to 10,000 units over the next few years from its current average of 4,000 units due to constraints at its existing Chennai facility. Skoda India is considering introducing smaller petrol and diesel engine variants of its Yeti crossover in 2011 to expand its presence in the growing Rs 12-18 lakh crossover segment in India.

2. Coca-Cola, Nestle JV launches bottled ice tea Nestea
Coca-Cola along with its joint venture partner Nestle, that owns the
ice tea brand Nestea, today launched the bottled ice-tea and is all set to
strengthen its products portfolio in the country with a national roll-out early
next year, a top company official said.
The joint venture company christened Beverage Partners Worldwide (BPW),
has launched the ready-to-drink lemon ice tea and is
likely to introduce more flavours such as peach, mango, orange, lime, pear and
honey in the near future.

3. Royal Enfield mulls new facility to expand capacity
Auto-maker Eicher Motors on Tuesday said its two-wheeler
arm, Royal Enfield , plans to set up a new facility to augment
production capacity to up to 10,000 motorcycles per month
over the next few years.
The company produced 4,000 units on average every month
last quarter, far lower than the design capacity of 5,000 units,
due to internal constraints at its Chennai facility,.
The investment on the engine plant will be around Rs 300
crore, he said, adding that the combined investment would
be funded through internal accruals.

4. Skoda to launch more variants of the Yeti in 2011
After a blazing entry with over 2000 bookings of its Yeti
crossover, Skoda India is considering bringing in more
variants of the Yeti in India.
The company is considering bringing in a smaller petrol
engine as well as diesel engine variants for the Yeti as it
plans to expand its toehold in the Rs 12-18 lakh crossover
segment that is expected to see a lot of action in the coming
year
On the cards is a 1.6-litre diesel engined variant of the Yeti.
The motor that currently powers Volkswagen's Vento and will
power Skoda's upcoming Vento based Fabia saloon may
also be found under the hood of a Yeti.
