World War II. Anne Frank's diary reaches a place within all of our hearts because it reminds us how easily the innocents can suffer. Sometimes we may
choose to close our eyes or look the other way when unjustifiable things happen in our society and Anne's tale reminds us that ignorance, in part,

Many of these secret homes were on busy streets that Nazis patrolled frequently. AnneFrank's family was one of these Jews and took up residence in
the hidden rooms above her father's former office. As the end of the war neared, Nazi soldiers began to get worried and cared less about apprehending
Jews than they did about killing the ones they already had taken as prisoner.
Since the Nazi soldiers were male, they treated men and women prisoners in their camps with a significant amount of difference. Prisoners were
forced to do pointless yet challenging labour for an indefinite time before they were sentenced to death. Upon arrival at the camps, Jews were
divided into two different groups; one would group would live and the other would be sent to the gas chambers immediately. The labour intensive
tasks proved to be quite brutal for women since they were not accustomed to such duties. Even pregnant women were not spared and many women
miscarried because the hard labour had killed their unborn child. Those babies who were born were almost inevitably taken immediately and killed.
There was no privacy in these camps and the women were continually being eyed by the lonely, watching soldiers. Some women were beaten or

"classic" names and none of us knew why. Once when I was about 9, I decided to ask. Why was my name Anne? What was the significance of the
name? My answer was Anne Frank. Most people know the story of Anne Frank. She went from a privileged life to one in hiding and one of torture.
Anne Frank is very influential because of how she persevered through the hard times and always managed to look forward to better things. Anne is
best known for her diary, written while in hiding from Nazis. The diary covers Anne's life in the annex from the day she receives it, to the day of her

aspired to be an artist, but when he applied to the art institute, he was rejected. Later on, he tried again, but to no avail, he had failed again. Since his
dreams of being a artist were crushed he enlisted in the German army. He had been injured twice, once in the eyes. When he was on leave for his
second injury, Germany submitted their surrender. Hitler thought of this as betrayal after all he had fought for. Also he considered this a sign that the
strong Germany he knew was gone.
At first he tried to take control of the country by force, but that didn't pan out as well as he thought it would. After his defeat he was captured and
sent to jail. His jail time was short lived, but while he was in prison he wrote a book. It showcased his beliefs and how to solve what he thought of
as problems. The title after translation meant My Struggle. After he got out of jail he decided that the best way to take over the country would have
to be legally. He later joined forces with the Nazi political party. Slowly he worked himself up in rank until he was second in command. What came
next was easy. He passed a law saying that once the current leader died no one would replace him. When he died shortly after

65 Anne and Mr. Frank is talking: Mr. Frank: There is so little that we parents can do to help our children. We can only try to get a good
example–point the way. The rest you must do yourself. You must build your own character. Anne: I'm trying. Really, I am. (She lies back more
relaxed.)Every night before I go to sleep, I think back over all the things I did that day that were wrong – like putting the wet mop in Mr. Dussel's bed
– and this thing now with mother. I day to myself, that was wrong. I make up my mind, I'm never going to do that again. Never! Of course I may do
something worse – but at least I'll never do that again. (The medicine begins to work. She becomes relaxed and drowsy.) I have a nicer side, Father – a
sweeter, nicer side. But I'm scared to show it. During this scene, Anne confessed that she had a nice side, but she was scared to show it. She would
be nice, but she did not know what people would think about her. I think this is a big act of kindness because when you dig deeper and read on, you
can find that she told Mr.Frank that the mean Anne comes out and the nice Anne stays on the inside. This shows how hard she has tried and nothing
would work, she was kind hearted and felt differently
