The Elite Sports Program (ESP) is a two-year program for students in Years 10-11 who have a strong interest in Australian Rules Football. Students will receive coaching and training at the Calder Cannons facilities twice a week. They will also complete a Certificate III in Sport and Recreation with an AFL specialization over the two years. The program aims to develop students' football skills and provide leadership opportunities through mentoring with ex-players. Upon completion, students will have insight into AFL careers and pathways.

2. ESP overview
Targeted to Years 10 or 11 Students displaying a strong interest in
AFL and have a desire to explore a career in Australian Rules
Football.
The program is delivered via a partnership with the Calder Cannons
TAC Football Club and AFL Victoria
The Elite Sports program consists of:
S VET Sport and Recreation Cert III to be completed over 2 years
S Two training sessions per week. Rehabilitation, skill development,
strength and conditioning training.

conditioning allowing for a blend of academic
development and practical learning specific to their
chosen sport
S The program aims to further develop each student’s
capacity in their chosen sport (AFL) by offering a
program that builds leadership, interpersonal and
communication skills.
S This will be achieved by being part of an elite
program, with elite coaching staff, and access to elite
facilities and opportunities.

S $250 per year, inclusive of camp, incursions, excursion, limited
uniform & elite coaching
S $400 per year - Additional cost for VET program
S Deposit for the program required by July this year if successful
in the application process.
S If you currently possess a concession card, please collect an
application form for a government funding grant worth
approximately $200 to be deducted off your total cost of the ESP.

S Application form
S Have a discussion with your parents/families
S Bring your parents to the information session tomorrow night at
6:30pm for Year 9 students going into 10 and 7:00pm for Year
11 students going into Year 12.

to Miss Chircop by Friday 12th June (next Friday)
