ESF advises and raises funds, both equity and debt, for commercial organisations wishing
to secure their future energy, heat and water at a known cost while benefitting from
the savings available through the use of modern technologies.

ESF provides a front-end consultancy
service, including business and financial
modelling, together with guidance on the
collation of all relevant documentation and
contractual agreements.
ESF partners with industry specialists who
advise on the optimal technology to suit each
client’s requirements.
Once this process is complete ESF promotes
the project to a number of specialist funders
leading to funding offers, due diligence and
financial close.
Consultancy
ESF provides a front-end consultancy service to ensure that each project is presented
to funders in a format that is acceptable to them and ready for due diligence.
Project Finance
ESF raises 100% funding by specialist investors or debt providers once a project has
planning permission and other necessary permitting and consents.
Project Refinancing
ESF can arrange to refinance existing operating assets where there is a requirement
to buy out original investors and funders or to aggregate asset classes as an
operating portfolio.
Asset Finance and Leasing
ESF can arrange leasing and asset finance for a number of technologies provided the
covenant of the borrower is acceptable to the lender.

5. Biomass
ESF successfully
raised funding for the
roll out programme
of biomass and gas
heating units for a large
Housing Association.
This enabled the client
to replace old and
inefficient heating
systems without
interruption of heat
and hot water supply to
their residents.
6. Heat
Recovery
ESF have been asked
to look at a number of
projects to recover heat
from water, gas cooling
and exhaust stacks
as well as projects
to optimize and
update existing heat
recovery systems.
7. Hydro
ESF can raise funding
for medium and
larger scale hydro
projects using
proven technology.
8. Solar PV
ESF raised funding
for a 10.5MW solar
farm on behalf of
a well established
EPC contractor
and developer.
ESF can also arrange
for the purchase of
shovel ready ground
mount and rooftop
projects as well as
the aggregation of
established operating
solar PV assets.
9. STOR

equity and debt for
an established STOR
operator to install
plant and transmission
equipment used to
generate standby
power assisting the
National Grid to
meet its capacity
market requirements.
10. Waste
to Energy
ESF works with proven
technology providers
in the field of Waste
to Energy (W2E) often
referred to as Energy
from Waste (EFW),
generally for on site
generation of electricity
and heat for large heat
and power users.
11. Water
Treatment
ESF have been involved
with financial modeling
for an on site water
treatment plant for a
food processor. This
provided the client with
significant savings on
the cost of disposal of
their brown water and
purchase of potable
clean water for use in
their manufacturing
processes.
12. Wind
ESF can fund medium
scale onshore
wind projects and
have reviewed a
number of multiple
turbine projects.

Allan Higgs
Founder Director
Allan is an Engineer and Accountant who has previously worked for Mouchel
Consulting Engineers and PH Warr plc as a surveyor. He is an experienced
Project Manager having worked for specialist and main contractors on both
commercial and infrastructure projects. In 2012 he and David da Cunha
founded ESF.
David da Cunha
Founder Director
David is a Chartered Accountant who worked in the City in Corporate Finance
before pursuing a career in commerce with a number of companies in senior
positions, mostly as Chairman or MD. Since 2000 he has worked in the property
sector both as an investor and developer, leading to him founding ESF with
Allan Higgs in 2012.
Diana Davidson
Business Development Director
Diana qualified as a Chartered Environmentalist member of the Energy
Institute in 2010 after a career in professional services with several FTSE listed
companies, predominantly in director level roles. She founded her own clean
tech’ consultancy, Vertemis in 2010 and is Chair of Energy Saving People and
CLEMG, the Central London Energy Managers Group. She joined ESF in 2014.
