Groundhogs, also known as woodchucks, are rodents that live in underground burrows and emerge in early spring. They are found throughout much of North America and can grow up to 2 feet long with half of that being their tail. Groundhogs hibernate during winter and are known for their ability to accurately predict the end of winter on Groundhog Day each year.
