Organizations across the country are benefiting from the exciting solutions delivered by Compliance Basics Plus made available through HR Service, a compliance and HR solutions organization. Compliance Basics Plus provides the tools, resources and information to help you easily keep current on legal requirements, generate required employee notifications, Summary Plan Descriptions, Summary of Material Modifications, pass ERISA audits and access hundreds of tools and resources to help with HR compliance and practices.
Do you feel your clients are compliant with ERISA requirements and would pass an audit? Have you had anyone audited during 2014? Many of our brokers have experienced an increase in DOL ERISA audits. One of our clients that was audited was a 15 person company. One of our broker partners asked the auditor why they were being audited. The auditor said they were not narrowed out, but that the DOL was tasked with auditing all plans by 2018. They have hired some 1800 additional auditors. Brokers who do not inform their clients of these audits could be at risk of not only having a client caught off guard, but loosing business to other brokers who are informing clients of these requirements.
It is extremely challenging for organizations to keep current on the many employment and benefit legal requirements and changes. With CB+, you receive a legal alert email informing you of due dates and required actions, along with federal and state legal updates.
Here’s an example of one of our Legal Updates. You’ll notice at the top of each alert are important due date and employer actions.
We show all federal compliance changes since the last update.
Once a year you are provided with a compliance calendar that outlines important compliance issue and employer actions for the year. We remind of each of these items, the month they are due in your legal alert.
Once a month you also receive an HR Bulletin that focuses on one best practice legal, HR or leadership topic. Here’s an example of a best practice bulletin we wrote on “How to Pass an ERISA Audit”
By virtue of offering a medical insurance plan, the law requires you to provide participants with multiple notices. Your web-based Employee Notice Generator allows you to easily generate an all in one employee notification report to send out to participants once a year to meet notification requirements. You answer simple questions about you company and medical plan that drives which notice applies. Once you generate your notices, the system pulls in which notice applies, fills out any required company specific information, and emails it to you in a ready to deliver format.
