JOB OBJECTIVE
To obtain a position in logistical support of emergency operations that utilizes my
telecommunications skills, as well as my experience in supply management, contracts,
acquisition process, and pricing.
EXPERIENCE
Verizon Communications, 945 Kinderkamack Road, River Edge, NJ 1989 – Present
Special Services Technician
 Install, operate, administer, and perform advanced maintenance of regional data network
elements, ensuring network integrity and quality.
 Work on analog and digital circuits for large commercial customers, municipalities, and
schools. Troubleshoot and upgrade systems. Technically lead during troubleshooting events.
 Update daily logs with site-specific information. Compose clear and concise reports for
system documentation.
 Perform duties with minimum supervision, and participate in cross-functional projects.
 Served as Shop Steward for Local 827 IBEW unit 1 for 15 years. Worked with union
members and management to settle grievances in a professional manner. Ensured contract
compliance. Promoted a two-way dialogue with management and with our senior union
leadership. Fostered a good rapport with management to meet their needs and address the
concerns of union members.
 Selected to work on several challenging large-scale projects, including Super Bowl XLVIII.
Installed and maintained over 240 phone lines. Worked with our Engineer and Construction
groups to upgrade the facilities in the Xanadu complex. Acted as a conduit between the New
Jersey State Police and various departments within Verizon for over three months.

 As Fire Commissioner, serve as liaison to 60-member Fire Department. Foster
communication between Fire Department and Mayor and Council. Ensure the Fire
Department has needed materials and support to run a critical emergency service.
 Serve on Public Safety Committee, handling confidential matters. Implemented storm
response systems at DPW, Police, and Fire Departments. Worked with department heads to
ensure timely response and communications during Hurricane Irene, Superstorm Sandy and
various snowstorms.
 Lead execution of the town fireworks displays and patriotic celebrations as liaison to Special
Events Committee fundraiser.
