2. Objective: The objective of this experiment is to

II. Observe some existing hand tools and machine.
III. Designing hand tools and machines using ergonomic principles,
to eliminate existing short coming.

Parts Description:( Existing Tool )
1. Hand Grip: Two long part joined at the end of head for tool holding and
putting pressure. Have sharp edges.
2. Head: Main part of the tool. Consists of teeth and other features for work.
Made of heavy material & have sharp edges.
Part Description:( Proposed Tool )
1. Head: Main part of the tool. Consists of teeth and other features for work.
All sharp edges are removed.
2. Hand Grip: Long part joined at the end of head for tool holding & putting
load at teeth. Has curved shape & no sharp edges.
3. Spring: Thick spring joined between two hand grip for easy load giving &
unlocking.
4. Lock: Situated at the end of hand grip. Used for locking the head at any
require place.
5. Rubber Cover: Cover the whole hand grip. Used for hand comfort & to
remove fatigue chances.
6. Grip Extension: Situated between grips. Used to extend the grip length as
needed.

Conclusion: In this experiment we studied on principle of different hand tool &
device design. Our group was assigned with hand tool named pliers. At first we
studied on some existing pliers design and found out some ergonomical problems.
For this problems user may face some difficulties while using this hand tool. We
propose an improve version of pliers. In this improved version of pliers we tried
to minimize all the problems we have found in existing version of pliers. We
included zero sharp edges, better & comfortable grip, locking system, spring and
suitable for all size of hand in our improved version of pliers. So user will not face
any kind of problem and chance of fatigue is zero.
