History
Ten years ago, CEO and founder Dawn Milman-Hurst
left a well-respected career within HR, where she worked
for a number of international organisations, to pursue her
passion for diversity and inclusion, and as a result she
created Equal Approach.

Equal Approach has been operating as a specialist
provider of diversity and inclusion solutions for the last
10 years, with a specific focus upon inclusive recruitment
and diversity consultancy services, surrounding the
attraction, recruitment, retention, recognition and promotion
of diverse talent.
Our credibility in the diversity and inclusion arena is
evidenced through the wide recognition we have
received in terms of the accreditations we hold and the
awards we have been recognised by, both in the UK
and European arenas. Equal Approach is a renowned
thought leader within the diversity and inclusion space,
frequently being published in national newspapers and
HR/recruitment magazines, offered regular public speaking
opportunities and being invited to contribute to a range of

Equal Approach recruit for a wide variety of clients from

for mid to senior level vacancies covering areas within:

Diverse Candidate Attraction Strategy
Over the past decade Equal Approach has developed a
unique diverse candidate attraction strategy in order to
attract candidates from the widest possible talent pools.
This includes our wide range of diversity partnerships,
and our recently launched Veterans project, in which
we support ex-service personnel into mid to senior
roles within the corporate environment, as part of our
commitment to the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant.

Assessment, Selection & Development Events
We are experienced in running both large and
small scale assessment, selection and development
events, and we can tailor events to meet your
organisation's objectives.
We have a pool of qualified and experienced assessors
and facilitators who will work closely with you to design
the appropriate event to achieve the outcomes you
require, using a wide variety of valid and reliable
exercises and techniques that we have developed over
the past 10 years.
All events will comply with current legislation, be
non-discriminatory and produce a variety of exercises
for candidates to demonstrate key skills, experience and
behaviours in a business and strategy focused way. We
use a variety of skills assessments and psychological
tools to support the decision making process in these
events. The most appropriate tools can be discussed at
consultation stage.
Assessment Events
Assessment events are useful tools to identify the best
candidates in many recruitment situations. Typically used
for management or client facing roles, the assessment
exercises are usually held throughout the course of a
day and allow potential employers to test candidates’
performances under varying conditions.
Selection Events
Selection events can be especially useful as criteria for a
redundancy selection exercise or as a re-organisational
tool to identify key skills and efficiencies of team
members.
Development Events
Development events are similar to assessment events,
as they enable organisations to increase performance by
gaining a full understanding of the skills and experience
of their existing team members. Development events
can help to identify employees’ gaps and can identify
development and training needs. They can also pinpoint
areas of an organisation which are in need of strengthening.
Psychometric Assessments
We have access to all major psychometric assessments,
including: Saville and Holdsworth, Myers Briggs, Thomas
International, OAD and many others. This is an add-on
service to any recruitment or assessment process.
Case Study
Development Events (June 2014)
Equal Approach conducted a series of development events for a client in June 2014 in order to assess candidates’
effectiveness in various roles.
65 Candidates • Each of the exercises were conducted by two assessors, which included a
technical assessor and a behavioural/psychological assessor
9 Development Events • Information from the sessions was collated and both written and verbal feedback
was provided to every candidate on areas for development
3 Different Locations • Within 1 week of the event, all candidates were provided with:
Newcastle, Leicester & Bristol - Face to face feedback from an assessor & senior manager from the client
- Clearly defined KPIs and objectives
- A detailed personal development plan
The client also engaged us to conduct a similar series of development events in January 2015 to support strategic
changes in their employees’ job roles.

Diversity and Inclusion Training
Our attitude to all learning is that this should not simply
be classroom based. Research is proving daily this
is not the most effective method for embedding
behavioural change or enhancing learning.

Development Events Development events are similar to assessment events, as they enable organisations to increase performance by gaining a full understanding of the skills and experience of their existing team members. Development events can help to identify employees’ gaps and can identify development and training needs. They can also pinpoint areas of an organisation which are in need of strengthening. Psychometric Assessments We have access to all major psychometric assessments, including: Saville and Holdsworth, Myers Briggs, Thomas International, OAD and many others. This is an add-on service to any recruitment or assessment process. Case Study Development Events (June 2014) Equal Approach conducted a series of development events for a client in June 2014 in order to assess candidates’ effectiveness in various roles. 65 Candidates • Each of the exercises were conducted by two assessors, which included a technical assessor and a behavioural/psychological assessor 9 Development Events • Information from the sessions was collated and both written and verbal feedback was provided to every candidate on areas for development 3 Different Locations • Within 1 week of the event, all candidates were provided with: Newcastle, Leicester & Bristol - Face to face feedback from an assessor & senior manager from the client - Clearly defined KPIs and objectives - A detailed personal development plan The client also engaged us to conduct a similar series of development events in January 2015 to support strategic changes in their employees’ job roles. 2 Week Timeframe
