Enthusiasm builds up during the holy month of Ramadan to face any hardship for the sake of worship, which promises immense rewards in the afterlife. Both young and old devote themselves fully to the observance of fasting and prayers, foregoing worldly pleasures and focusing instead on matters of the afterlife. Though human nature is inconsistent, it is not foolish to dismiss the precious thirty days of Ramadan as just any other days, as each day is worth more than the earth and is an opportunity to beg for God's mercy.

ENTHUSIASM
As days roll by,
Enthusiasm builds up
To face any hardship
For the sake of worship
That promises
Immense returns.
Young and old,
Meek and bold,
All go for it,
Hesitating not a bit.
Forgoing sweet water
And the sumptuous platter.
And all those matters
If not left out shatters
All that they gather
For the Hereafter.
What mattered most
Now seems a mirage.
What seemed a mirage
Now matters most.
Though not for all days
At least for thirty days.
This is human nature
An inconsistent creature
That bears not loads heavy
That seems lousy!
But then it is not foolish
To dismiss as rubbish
This precious thirty days
As any other days.
A day worth
More than the earth.
Begging for mercy
Despite being flimsy.
But then Merciful is He
As He should be
And will always be
Like the vast sea!
