2. STYLE
This floorplan uses an industrial country style to achieve a clean and relaxing atmosphere
that compliments features in the master bedroom. These two styles go hand in hand, as
both maintain the idea of using raw materials while prioritizing practicality over frilly
design.
The industrial style draws inspiration from the lofty look of warehouses and factories,
particularly around the industrial revolution. During this period, design emphasized the
look of raw materials. Elements such as brick, metal piping/framing, and reclaimed wood
will be incorporated into this design to create a neutral canvas for other elements in the
space.
In terms of permanent fixtures, the country style is expressed in this space through the
reclaimed barnwood found in the accent paneling and sink vanity. More elements of this
country style will be more apparent with the non-permanent accessories within the space.
After these plans have been finalized, I will create a floor plan including non-permanent
fixtures and lighting.
3. COLOUR
SCHEME
I have chosen a natural colour scheme to achieve
the look of a fresh, clean, and natural environment.
This natural colour scheme uses muted brown with
whites, greys and blacks.
At the end of the slideshow, I have included
multiple options for wall colours that could go with
the same tiling chosen. For the purpose of this
presentation, I will use a muted green colour, as
seen in the following slide.
All colours and textures used in this space are to
enhance the country and industrial style by
highlighting the minimalist design. I have chosen
muted natural tones for this reason.

This is an example of a toilet seat covering that can
be stained to match the barnwood in the room. This
example is available to purchase on eBay, but if you
have a contractor who is willing to make it out of
the same barnwood, that may be another option. If
not, a white seat and lid will also work just fine!

12. FINAL NOTES/THOUGHTS
I have chosen some items in this design, such as porcelain tiling that resembles
brick/stone, as well as a solid surface countertop. These items were chosen for
their waterproof/nonporous qualities. The products listed in this presentation
are starting points of what the space can look like. Of course, I would always
recommend going with raw materials over a synthetic product or coloured
porcelain. The authenticity of raw brick, stone, and wood will strongly
compliment the industrial feel of the space, while creating a sense of luxury.
As well, I’m not sure what the ceiling will look like, but if there is an option to
leave the beams exposed, that would be ideal for the space.
I hope this presentation has provided you with a solid visual of the space
envisioned. Please let me know what you like/dislike and we can go from there!
