Faculty and Staff
   The MIT faculty instructs undergraduate and graduate students and engages in research. As of
    October 2011, the Institute's total teaching staff includes:
   MIT's Total Teaching Staff Professors 647 Associate professors 210 Assistant professors 161 Senior
    lecturers, lecturers, and professors emeriti 540 Instructors (including technical instructors) 148
    Professors of the practice and adjunct faculty 32 MIT employs approximately 10,775 individuals.
   There are 1,018 faculty members (professors of all ranks), including 217 women.
   Minority group representation among faculty includes American Indian or Alaskan
    Native, Black, Hispanic, and Asian.
   The student-faculty ratio is 8:1.
   Students are given the ability to work closely with MIT's faculty at every turn. With rare
    exceptions, every class at MIT is taught by a professor.
   All upperclassmen choose a faculty advisor.

   Each dormitory has a live-in housemaster, who is usually a senior faculty member.
   Seventy-seven present and former members of the MIT community have won the Nobel
    Prize, including eight current faculty members.
   Thirty-six current and former members of the MIT faculty have received the National Medal of
    Science.
   One current and one emeritus faculty member have been awarded the National Medal of Technology
    and Innovation.
   There are 71 Guggenheim Fellows, six Fulbright Scholars, and 21 MacArthur Fellows among current
    MIT faculty and staff.
   The title of Institute Professor is the highest honor awarded by the faculty and administration at MIT.

Admission
   Selected undergraduate admissions statistics from 2011:
   Final applications for the freshman class were received from 17,909
    candidates.
   Admission was offered to 1,742 candidates (9.7 percent), of whom
    1,128 enrolled.
   Approximately 45 percent of the freshman class was female.
   Ten percent were international citizens.
   A majority had attended public schools.
   Fourteen percent were among the first generation in their family to
    attend college.
   Forty-six US states were represented, with California being the most
    represented state.
   International students hailed from 59 countries.
   Selected graduate admissions statistics from 2011:
   Applications for graduate study were received from 22,220 candidates.
   Admission was offered to 3,306 candidates, of whom 2,118 (64
    percent) registered in advanced degree programs.

-The University of Cambridge is the second oldest English-speaking,
  after Oxford. According to history, the University of Cambridge,
  England, was founded in 1209 by Oxford academic who fled after a
  scuffle with officers of the city.

 The thirty-one colleges that make up the university are separate and

Why is famous cambridge?
   Cambridge Universities have always been well known
    and reputable throughout the world. is the second
    oldest university in the English speaking world. It is
    considered one of the world renowned academic
    institutions. Cambridge was a center of the new
    teaching of the Renaissance and Reformation
    theology, in modern times has been so remarkable and
    active in science. It has faculties of
    classics, divinity, English, architecture and art
    history, modern languages ​and medieval, oriental
    studies, music, economics and
    politics, history, law, philosophy, education, engineering
    , earth sciences and
    geography, mathematics, biology, archeology and
    anthropology, physics and chemistry and medicine.

   REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION
   The application system to Cambridge and Oxford involves additional
    requirements, with candidates typically called to face-to-face interviews.

   Strong applicants who are not successful at their chosen college may be
    placed in the Winter Pool, where they can be offered places by other colleges.
    This is in order to maintain consistency throughout the colleges, some of
    which receive more applicants than others.


   COSTS
   The university estimates that the average cost of living for a full academic
    year will be around £ 6,000 - £ 7,500, not including the amount of tuition fees
    of the studies that they take place.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSON
   Admission to college is highly rigorous and is based on academic merit and
    potential of the candidate. The individual colleges are conducting
    undergraduate admissions, working together to ensure that the best
    students have a place at university. Selection is based on school references,
    personal essays, achieved results, predicted results, written work, written
    tests and interviews.
   The selection of graduate students is carried out first in which the
    department will consider each, and then secondarily by the school which is
    associated with the department.

REQUIREMENTS FOR
ADMISSON
 Admission to UCL is highly selective; many of UCL's courses
  require three A grades at A Level, or a grade equivalent of 6,6,6
  on higher level subjects on the International Baccalaureate
  Program.
 Due to a very high proportion of applicants receiving the highest
  school grades, UCL, along with institutions such as Imperial
  College London and the University of Cambridge was one of the
  first universities in the UK to make use of the A* grade at A-Level
  (introduced in 2010) for admissions, particularly for very
  oversubscribed courses such as
  Economics, Mathematics, Medicine, History, Psychology, and
  European Social and Political Studies.

Mission  The mission of MIT is to advance knowledge and educate students in science, technology, and other areas of scholarship that will best serve the nation and the world in the twenty-first century.  The Institute is committed to generating, disseminating, and preserving knowledge, and to working with others to bring this knowledge to bear on the world's great challenges. MIT is dedicated to providing its students with an education that combines rigorous academic study and the excitement of discovery with the support and intellectual stimulation of a diverse campus community. We seek to develop in each member of the MIT community the ability and passion to work wisely, creatively, and effectively for the betterment of humankind.
  • 5. Faculty and Staff  The MIT faculty instructs undergraduate and graduate students and engages in research. As of October 2011, the Institute's total teaching staff includes:  MIT's Total Teaching Staff Professors 647 Associate professors 210 Assistant professors 161 Senior lecturers, lecturers, and professors emeriti 540 Instructors (including technical instructors) 148 Professors of the practice and adjunct faculty 32 MIT employs approximately 10,775 individuals.  There are 1,018 faculty members (professors of all ranks), including 217 women.  Minority group representation among faculty includes American Indian or Alaskan Native, Black, Hispanic, and Asian.  The student-faculty ratio is 8:1.  Students are given the ability to work closely with MIT's faculty at every turn. With rare exceptions, every class at MIT is taught by a professor.  All upperclassmen choose a faculty advisor.  Each dormitory has a live-in housemaster, who is usually a senior faculty member.  Seventy-seven present and former members of the MIT community have won the Nobel Prize, including eight current faculty members.  Thirty-six current and former members of the MIT faculty have received the National Medal of Science.  One current and one emeritus faculty member have been awarded the National Medal of Technology and Innovation.  There are 71 Guggenheim Fellows, six Fulbright Scholars, and 21 MacArthur Fellows among current MIT faculty and staff.  The title of Institute Professor is the highest honor awarded by the faculty and administration at MIT.

Admission  Selected undergraduate admissions statistics from 2011:  Final applications for the freshman class were received from 17,909 candidates.  Admission was offered to 1,742 candidates (9.7 percent), of whom 1,128 enrolled.  Approximately 45 percent of the freshman class was female.  Ten percent were international citizens.  A majority had attended public schools.  Fourteen percent were among the first generation in their family to attend college.  Forty-six US states were represented, with California being the most represented state.  International students hailed from 59 countries.  Selected graduate admissions statistics from 2011:  Applications for graduate study were received from 22,220 candidates.  Admission was offered to 3,306 candidates, of whom 2,118 (64 percent) registered in advanced degree programs.
