The journey to achieve the
SDGs by 2030 will involve
Governments as well as
parliaments, the United Nations
system and other international
institutions, local authorities,
indigenous peoples, civil
society, business and the
private sector, the scientific
and academic community –
and all people.
Millions have already engaged
with, and will own, this Agenda.
Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda
for Sustainable Development, paragraph 52
It is an Agenda of the people, by the people and for the
people – and this, we believe, will ensure its success.
The future of humanity and of our planet is in our hands.
The UN SDG Action Campaign is a special inter-agency
initiative of the UN Secretary-General mandated to scale
up, broaden and sustain the global movement of action for
the SDGs.
MOBILIZE GLOBAL DAY TO #ACT4SDGs
The Global Day to Act4SDGs is
the primary mass mobilization
activity of the Action Campaign. It
is a global yearly call to
action to engage all stakeholders
across the world to take action for
the SDGs
The Global Day is held each 25
September to mark the
anniversary of the adoption of the
2030 Agenda for Sustainable
Development and of the SDGs
2018 STATS:
MOBILIZE SDG WINGS - the butterfly effect for the SDGs
The SDG Wings campaign leverages the
power of new technologies to inspire
people to interact, own, and share their
support for the Goals.
The campaign brings together: i) hand
illustrations to turn each of the 17 SDGs into
wings; ii) Augmented Reality to bring the
wings to life; iii) outdoor placement and
cinema spots to bring the SDG to public
spaces; iv) a localized influencer and
social media engagement strategy; an
online platform for people to take action
for the Goals.
INSPIRE
The Global Festival of Action for Sustainable
Development is a creative and
unconventional 3-day global event that
brings together the most innovative activists,
the most inspiring story-tellers, the most
gifted young advocates and leaders from
governments, international organizations,
civil society and the private sector to share
ideas, learn from each other, forge
new partnerships, inspire action and
scale up actions for the SDGs.

interactive sessions. The Festival hosted more than 250 speakers and 30
innovations and exhibitions -including arts and music. Over 30,000
people tuned in live to the UN webtv livestream from 158 countries and the
Festival was a trending topic on Twitter in Germany.
INSPIRE SDG ACTION AWARDS
The last edition had more than 700
submissions- within 7 categories:
innovator, includer, mobilizer, storyteller,
connector, communicator and visualizer.

inspire others.
