This document summarizes an energy efficiency program between Origin Energy and Low Carbon Australia that provides on-bill financing for commercial and industrial customers to implement energy efficiency projects. The program offers end-to-end project support including audits, financing from Low Carbon Australia, repayment through utility bills, and guaranteed energy savings. It aims to make energy efficiency investments more accessible and reduce risks for customers. Initial results found that on-bill financing with guaranteed savings addressed key barriers to energy efficiency adoption.

The agenda was developed by Sustainable Energy for All's High-Level Group, which includes distinguished leaders from government, the private sector and civil society, as well as three CEM ministers including: Steven Chu, U.S. Secretary of Energy; Edison Lobão, Brazilian Minister of Mines and Energy; and Farooq Abdullah, Minister of New and Renewable Energy of India.
The Low Carbon SMEs project uses university academics to provide short and long term support to SMEs in the Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP area. Projects leading to reduction in energy consumption, carbon emissions and process inefficiencies within high energy using organisations are eligible for support.
The GRI guidelines feature a modular, interrelated structure and represent the global best practice for reporting on a range of economic, environmental and social impacts. The company has decided to abide by this guideline and release the report as another step towards improving transparency and stakeholder confidence by disclosing a lot of aspects which were so far not in public domain about the company. This is a first among power distribution companies in India.
This report will also help us convey to all stakeholders about the initiatives that the company has taken under the three pillars of Triple Bottom Line towards economic, social and environmental sustainability over the years. The new initiatives towards improving sustainability of the distribution sector through collaborations, promotion of solar energy and ADR also have been mentioned in the report.
Investors can use this guide to: Decide whether energy productivity is a material issue for any portfolio companies; Prioritise and shortlist sectors or companies for engagement on energy issues; Access supporting information (including industry
examples) for engagement or discussions with companies; Support improved financial returns for portfolio companies through pursuing opportunities for their energy productivity improvement
