2. IBEC HR Priorities Survey
2017/18
• The main priority for respondents in both years was attracting and retaining talent (63% in 2017
and 64% in 2018).
• Over half of the respondents (51%) view employee engagement as a key priority for 2018,
which is slightly higher than in 2017 (46%).
o This prioritisation of employee engagement is indicative of employers’ increasing awareness of the
key role that it plays in talent retention, talent attraction and overall company performance.
The data for this report was collected in September 2017 and is based on 419 responses from Ibec member companies, across all company
sizes and industry sectors.
