Web3, also known as the decentralized web, is a vision for a future internet that is decentralized, secure, and open to all. It is based on the use of blockchain and other distributed ledger technologies to enable peer-to-peer communication and transactions rather than relying on centralized servers and intermediaries. The goal of Web3 is to create a more equitable and decentralized internet, where users have greater control over their personal data and online activities and where all participants can contribute and benefit from the network.
Web3 technologies can revolutionize many aspects of the internet and how we use it, including online communication, social networking, e-commerce, and more. They also have the potential to disrupt traditional business models and create new opportunities for innovation and collaboration. While web3 is still in its early stages of development, it is an exciting area of innovation that is worth paying attention to. Listed below are a few potential breakthroughs that we could witness in 2023:
Blockchain is a decentralized, digital ledger that records transactions on multiple computers so that the record cannot be altered retroactively without the alteration of all subsequent blocks and the consensus of the network. This allows blockchains to be secure by design and resistant to modification of the data.
Smart Contract is a self-executing contract with the terms of the agreement between buyer and seller being directly written into lines of code. The code and the agreements contained therein are stored and replicated on a blockchain network. Smart contracts allow for the automation of complex processes, including enforcing, verifying, and negotiating contracts. They can be used to facilitate, verify, and enforce the negotiation or performance of a contract.
Digital Wallet, also known as an e-wallet or electronic wallet, is a software program or service that allows individuals to store, manage, and use their digital currencies, such as bitcoin or ether. Digital wallets can be used to make electronic transactions, such as online purchases or peer-to-peer payments. They can also be used to store other types of digital information, such as loyalty points or tickets.
Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) is an organization run through a set of rules encoded as smart contracts on a blockchain. DAOs operate on a decentralized network and are not controlled by any single individual or entity. DAOs are designed to be transparent and accountable, as all actions and decisions are recorded on the blockchain. They are also autonomous, as they are programmed to carry out tasks and make decisions based on predefined rules.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.
Let's dive deeper into the world of ODC! Ricardo Alves (OutSystems) will join us to tell all about the new Data Fabric. After that, Sezen de Bruijn (OutSystems) will get into the details on how to best design a sturdy architecture within ODC.

"Emerging Horizons: Exploring The Latest Technological Frontiers"
1. Latest technology trends
In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, blockchain, metaverse, and artificial
intelligence (AI) stand out as key areas of innovation and exploration.
Blockchain technology, originally associated with crypto-currencies, has expanded its reach into
various industries, offering solutions for supply chain management, digital identity verification,
and decentralized finance.
Meanwhile, the concept of the metaverse is captivating imaginations, promising immersive
virtual environments where users can interact in real-time, reshaping social interaction,
entertainment, and commerce.
Simultaneously, AI continues to advance, driving breakthroughs in areas like deep learning,
natural language processing, and autonomous systems, while also raising ethical considerations
around fairness, transparency, and bias mitigation.
As these technologies converge and influence each other, they present both opportunities and
challenges at the forefront of modern innovation.
2. AI involves use of robotics
Robotics is a branch of engineering and computer science that involves the conception, design,
manufacture and operation of robots.
The objective of the robotics field is to create intelligent machines that can assist humans in a
variety of ways.
Robotics can take on a number of forms.
A robot might resemble a human or be in the form of a robotic application, such as robotic
process automation, which simulates how humans engage with software to perform repetitive,
rules-based tasks.

rules-based tasks.
4. We also have electrical cars
Electric cars run at least partially on electricity. Unlike conventional vehicles that use a gasoline
or diesel-powered engine, electric cars and trucks use an electric motor powered by electricity
from batteries or a fuel cell.
They also contribute to energy efficiency, particularly when paired with renewable energy
sources.
Technological advancements have led to improvements in battery performance, extending
driving range and reducing charging times.
Additionally, electric cars often boast advanced features and connectivity, enhancing the driving
experience.
Despite these advantages, challenges such as limited infrastructure for charging and concerns
over battery materials' environmental impact remain.
6. Block-chain Technology
Blockchain is a shared, immutable ledger that facilitates the process of recording transactions
and tracking assets in a business network.
Business runs on information.
The faster information is received and the more accurate it is, the better. Blockchain is ideal for
delivering that information because it provides immediate, shared, and observable information
that is stored on an immutable ledger that only permissioned network members can access.
A blockchain network can track orders, payments, accounts, production and much more.
And because members share a single view of the truth, you can see all details of a transaction
end to end, giving you greater confidence, and new efficiencies and opportunities.
8. Metaverse
The metaverse is a loosely defined term referring to virtual worlds in which users represented by
avatars interact , usually in 3D and usually focused on social and economic connection.
The term metaverse originated in the 1992 science fiction novel Snow Crash as a portmanteau
of "meta" and "universe".
In Snow Crash, the metaverse is envisioned as a hypothetical iteration of the Internet as a single,
universal, and immersive virtual world that is facilitated by the use of virtual reality (VR) and
augmented reality (AR) headsets
The metaverse has implications for social interaction, entertainment, education, remote work,
and e-commerce.
10. End of Presentation
The metaverse promises immersive experiences but also raises concerns about digital privacy
and identity.
Blockchain's decentralized nature offers exciting possibilities for secure transactions, but its
scalability and energy consumption remain areas for improvement.
Embracing these technologies requires a balance between innovation and responsible
deployment, with a focus on ethics, inclusivity, and sustainability.
