The North Bothnia Line will complete the Bothnian Corridor railway network in northern Sweden. It is supported by eight municipalities, two county administrative boards, two county councils, two chambers of commerce, and funded by these organizations and the EU. The railway will halve journey times and increase transport capacity for vital industries in northern Sweden like mining, metal production, and machinery that have a combined output value of over 55 billion euros annually. This will boost regional economic growth and competitiveness while reducing carbon emissions by 80,000 tons per year through more efficient transport of the steel and other materials that are currently moved equivalent to the Eiffel Tower daily in northern Sweden.
