ETICS- quality certification of open source cloud software, OW2con'12, ParisOW2
Cloud Computing is becoming the new paradigm for the Internet and Service provisioning. Open source solutions, especially those resulting from R/D projects, often are neglected due to the absence of track-records in use by real world applications. ETICS is a build, test and certification software developed since 2004 and up to now used at CERN, ENG and others to build and test various complex software systems, such us glite (http://glite.cern.ch) and gcube (http://www.gcube-system.org).
OW2 has a long history of cooperation with FOSSology to analyze the licenses of OW2 projects. FOSSology scans were run on all mature OW2 projects through an OW2 account on the FOSSology repository hosted by Oregon State University. The scans provided valuable license information and detected some unexpected or custom licenses. Going forward, OW2 aims to automate FOSSology scans on new project releases and develop custom filters tailored for each project on the OSU FOSSology repository.

OCCIware project and OCCI standard presented at China Cloud Computing & Stand...OW2
The document discusses the OCCIware project, which aims to standardize cloud computing using the Open Cloud Computing Interface (OCCI). OCCIware develops a formal model and meta-model for OCCI to enable model-driven engineering of cloud resources. It has produced tools like a Docker container designer and the Erocci runtime for generic OCCI implementations. OCCIware demonstrates how OCCI can be used to deliver infrastructure as a service, deployment services, and big data/HPC middleware in an interoperable way.
The document describes the Chubby lock service, which provides a centralized lock service using Paxos consensus. Chubby maintains a simple database replicated across servers (replicas), with one server elected as the master via Paxos. Clients can perform read and write operations on the database by communicating only with the master server. The lock service provides reliability and availability rather than high performance. It was used in Google systems like GFS, Bigtable to coordinate processes and ensure only one acts on a shared resource at a time.
Spatial Sound 4: Getting the Best Surround AroundRichard Elen
The document discusses distributing Ambisonic recordings by decoding them to conventional surround sound formats. It proposes decoding Ambisonic content to speaker feeds and distributing them on a medium like DVD that everyone can already play. This G-Format approach allows anyone to listen while letting the producer control the decoding process. While it loses some Ambisonic benefits, it makes the content widely available now using popular formats like DTS on a CD. Initial tests decoding older Ambisonic mixes to 5.1 speaker feeds were successful.
OCCIware: Extensible and Standard-based XaaS Platform To Manage Everything in...OW2
The OCCIware project aims at managing in a unified manner all layers and domains of the Cloud (XaaS), by building on the Open Cloud Computing (OCCI) standard. OCCIware Metamodel formally specifies the main OCCI concepts. Today a first EMF metamodel is defined that adds to OCCI new concepts such as Extension, Configuration, and EDataType, addressing some limitations of OCCI.
This session highlights OCCIware platform two main components:
– The OCCIware Studio Factory, allowing to produce visually customizable diagram editors for any Cloud configuration business domain modeled in OCCI using the OCCI Extension Studio, such as the flagship Docker Studio ;
– The OCCIware Runtime, based on OW2 erocci project, including the tools for deployment, supervision and administration, and allowing to federate multiple XaaS Cloud runtimes, such as the Roboconf PaaS server and the ActiveEon Cloud Automation multi-IaaS connector.
This talk includes a demonstration of the Docker connector and of how to use the OCCIware Cloud Designer to configure a real life Cloud application (a Java API server on top of a MongoDB cluster)’s business, platform and infrastructure layers seamlessly on both VirtualBox and OpenStack infrastructure.

ETICS is a service-oriented system which supports its users in building, testing and in verifying the quality of the software produced. With ETICS it is possible to define, execute and analyse a large range of software testing cases, from static code analysis (e.g. documentation coverage, PMD metrics) to unit testing, to compliance testing, to deployment and functional testing in a multi-node environment created specifically for the test execution. ETICS build, testing and quality verification tools are offered as a service to open source projects within the OCEAN project. In this context ETICS mainly simplifies and supports testing activities improving the quality of the software being produced, verifying its compliance to standards and its interoperability features. This presentation can be seen as a continuation of ETICS presentation given last year at OW2 conference 2012. It aims at showing results from the use of ETICS as one of OCEAN services and at illustrating the approach developed to support software compliance and interoperability for the verification of the compatibility to OCCI and CDMI standards.

Egypt is one of the oldest tourist destinations in the world due to its ancient temples, pyramids and history. While most visitors go to see landmarks like the Great Pyramids of Giza and Valley of the Kings, Egypt also has natural attractions along the Red Sea coast and oasis in the Sahara desert. Since political unrest in 2011, visitor numbers have declined but this has made it possible to have more solitary experiences at popular sites. The document then lists and provides brief descriptions of 10 top places to visit in Egypt for holidays, including Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, the Giza Necropolis and Red Sea resorts like Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh known for diving and beaches
