Ladislav Mura: Networking of Scientific and Academic Teams and Cooperation wi...CUBCCE Conference
The purpose of his presentation is to address an undoubtedly discussed issue of networking and creation of educational and scientific clusters. The scientific teams of different countries and various scientific fields represent the most dynamically developing part of the scientific and research base. Establishing interdisciplinary teams with members from different countries create a strong scientific potential for implementing financially and technologically demanding scientific research. Providing the necessary background for the scientists requires large financial investments, ensuring access to scientific resources and the latest research results. In his presentation He would like to introduce an educational-scientific cluster, consisting of three institutions of higher education, officially operating under the name of Academic Alliance. The cluster is formed by two Czech and one Slovak institution. The scientific researchers of the institutions are connected to create a strong background, active interaction, synergy, and the possibility to conduct demanding scientific research.

This document provides background on Christine Revsbech's PhD dissertation which examines learning as a social exchange process within City Year London, a British affiliate of an American charity organization. The dissertation draws upon economic anthropology, learning theories, and concepts of social entrepreneurship to analyze data collected through observations and interviews with City Year London volunteers and staff. Revsbech's theoretical framework combines Marcel Mauss's notion of social value with David Graeber's development of Mauss's thinking. The dissertation aims to contribute to understanding of learning as a subjective mediation of objective, societal, and cultural processes within contexts of non-formal and informal education.
This thesis examines learning in City Year London, a youth volunteering organization, through an anthropological study. It uses concepts from economic anthropology, like Mauss' theory of the gift, to analyze the data. The goal is to understand the processes of learning and value creation that occur as volunteers participate in City Year's mission of helping children and their communities.

About the Postgraduate doctoral study programme
The goal of the doctoral programme is to educate students for an academic research career in the field of business through teaching and direct
research. In line with general faculty values and strategies, the doctoral programme is based on the following: generation of a broad base of
intellectual capital, innovative educational experience, collaborative relationships with students as active contributors, and linking theory and
practicebasedonaction-basedlearning.
The concept of the doctoral study programme is based upon the programmes of American and European universities and has a good response from
PhD candidates from all over the Republic of Croatia because it successfully combines the teaching and research component of academic activity. The
Postgraduate doctoral study programme in Management emphasizes the obligatory courses of Economics for Managers, Organizational Behaviour,
Operational Management, Marketing Management and Information Management with the support of 15 elective courses that allow additional

Strong support for the programme's performance and presentation of research papers is provided by foreign professors, especially in the
organization of scientific conferences and publishing book titled “Interdisciplinary Management Research// Interdisziplinäre Management
Forschung“, a series of editions indexed in prestigious international databases such as Thomson ISI, RePEc, Econ Papers, and Socionet. The statistics
reveal that since the beginning of the doctoral program more than 260 candidates have been enrolled; 19 professors are engaged in the programme
and the list of cities that have been visited as part of the experience outside the classroom includes travelling abroad, such as to Madrid, Lisbon,
Barcelona,Amsterdam,Rome,London,Vienna,Copenhagen,Brussels,Istanbul,ortoPorečandOpatijainCroatia.
The philosophy of mentorship
Every year, less than 30 students from a wide range of interested candidates are recruited, with on-going mentoring of eminent professors. For the
time being, this is a major foundation of the ex-postgraduate Master's Degree in Management, the Postgraduate specialist study programme in
OrganizationandManagement,andotherinterestedcandidatesforwhichweofferaPhDdegree.

Leadership
There have been 13 generations of PhD students enrolled in the Postgraduate doctoral study programme in Management. The programme follows
the Bologna Process proposals aiming at developing a manager who will demonstrate his/her leadership by his/her example: people with a sense of
social responsibility, with great aspirations and desire to stand out from the crowd by differentiating themselves from others. As global business
continuous to develop, these students acquire leadership skills for dynamic jobs where they are partners and respected members who understand
the world as one big community. During the past years, many students have been professionally profiled and gained significant acknowledgments as
individuals in terms of career advancement in their communities, as well as awards by the City of Osijek. The journal Lider has included two PhD
candidates coming from the Postgraduate doctoral study in Management among the 500 most influential women in the field of management. As
family business leaders, it is important for our PhD students to be constantly informed about the trends in education theory. For them, leadership is
not a question, it is the reality. In order to remain competitive and maintain their company, they understand that education is a lifetime process and
