Where and Who I Went To School With.
Wayne State University ranks in the top 100 universities United States. This urban
premier research university is a RU/VH (research university with very high research
activity) and of only 3.5% of all universities in the U.S. Princeton Review ranks Wayne
State’s business school as outstanding.
Being located in Detroit it is in close proximity to global and multinational Enterprises.
This increases the probabilities of Wayne State's functional distance between these
organizations. This gave me the architecture and opportunity to learn face-to-face with
world leaders like Ford CEO Alan Mulally, Delphi VP Sid Johnson and others.
This proximity to world leaders and their functional distance increases the probability of
interception of their values and business concepts. It creates a natural bias to follow
leaders because the enormous adaptive significance of the mere exposure effect. This
phenomenon presupposes our actions and attachments to help create the right evaluations
to look for in business, it powerfully disseminates the right values and concepts that are
needed in a highly competitive world that must be continuously innovative.
Wayne State University is the people, who are a highly inclusive and divers mix of
students and staff from around the world. This diversity expands the skills and
perspectives available for problem solving. This is highly advantageous as long as
process disadvantages and diversity consensus dilemma are avoided and status
congruency is present making team members feel comfortable.
With strong heterogeneousness at this university it brings forth a pool of talent and
different viewpoints that are a strong resource for problem solving and enhanced
performance potential. Wayne State University’s self-determination model and
empowerment of individuals, that in addition to required behaviors, unlocks emergent
behaviors that facilitate team dynamics.
