College at a Glance
 Ranvir Rananjay Post Graduate College, Amethi was founded on the 18th
August 1959 by a great
Gandhian, freedom fighter, philanthropist and social reformer Rajarshi Rananjay Sinh popularly
known as ‘Dadan Sahab’; the 31st
generation Raja of the royal family of Amethi State. The state of
amethi was established in the year 966 by Raja Sodhdev and shoulders a rich, glorious history with
each of its 32 generations adding and setting milestones in various walks of life.
Rajaarshi Rananjay Sinh held this belief that the people of Amethi could progress and develop only if
education was reached to one and all, the poor and rich, men and women equally. To make his
thoughts and dreams a reality Raja Rananjay Sinh commenced the journey on the route of education
by establishing the Victoria Memorial School in 1906, which was the landmark step in the annals
of the glorious dynasty. In 1916 ‘Anand Pathshala’ was established, which was upgraded to
‘Anglo Vernacular Middle School’ in 1932 and to high school in 1948. It was further upgraded to
an Intermediate College in 1951. Again, Degree College was established in 1959 which onwards
gained the status of Post Graduate College in 1973.
 Presently Dr. Sanjay Sinh the heir of Late Rajarshi Rananjay Sinh has not stopped short of his
ancestors in the field of education. Keeping in step with current times and requirements Dr. Sanjay
Sinh is moving forward relentlessly, presenting opportunities to the people of Amethi with the
requirement of time. The era of modernization, growth in Information Technology and science, he
has equipped the students of Amethi with diverse institutions as-

College at a Glance  Ranvir Rananjay Post Graduate College, Amethi was founded on the 18th August 1959 by a great Gandhian, freedom fighter, philanthropist and social reformer Rajarshi Rananjay Sinh popularly known as ‘Dadan Sahab’; the 31st generation Raja of the royal family of Amethi State. The state of amethi was established in the year 966 by Raja Sodhdev and shoulders a rich, glorious history with each of its 32 generations adding and setting milestones in various walks of life. Rajaarshi Rananjay Sinh held this belief that the people of Amethi could progress and develop only if education was reached to one and all, the poor and rich, men and women equally. To make his thoughts and dreams a reality Raja Rananjay Sinh commenced the journey on the route of education by establishing the Victoria Memorial School in 1906, which was the landmark step in the annals of the glorious dynasty. In 1916 ‘Anand Pathshala’ was established, which was upgraded to ‘Anglo Vernacular Middle School’ in 1932 and to high school in 1948. It was further upgraded to an Intermediate College in 1951. Again, Degree College was established in 1959 which onwards gained the status of Post Graduate College in 1973.
