Today’s lesson
1) Completing final piece
Collect all equipment needed during the lesson.
Not moving around the room. Periods of silent
working. Working quietly all lesson.
2) Refining work based on feedback, if you have it.
You may ask if unsure what to do. Also, make sure all
work in your book is presented and evaluated.

Homework
Create a design for an outfit or fashion garment,
influenced by the style of Edo Morales and show two
viewpoints.
Consider colour, subject, pattern and line
E.g. You could draw a baseball hat with a bubble
wrap style collograph texture pattern covering the
peak and eyes covering the top part.

1) Cut pattern out, using paper scissors
2) Iron fabric
3) Pin pattern onto fabric (following grain line)
4) Cut around pattern, using fabric scissors
5) Cut out notches. Mark any join points in pencil or
with a stitch.
6) Keep pattern for reference.

• Step one - draw your design on paper and cut out using
paper scissors - for our sample, use a simple shape like
a letter
• Step Two - pin your template to the CORNER or your fet
piece. This prevents waste and means that someone
else can use the same piece of felt
• Step three - Pin your felt shape to the place you would
like it to be on your Calico fabric.
• Step Four - Use running stitch to sew down your shape.
• Challenge Task:

Try Backstitch or Cross stitch to sew down your shape!

1.Make sure your fingers are as close to the needle as possible
– to be accurate.
2.
You need to tie your hair up before using the sewing
machines.
3.
Only one person at a time using the sewing machine
4.
Loose clothing, like ties, need to be tucked out of the way

When you have finished using the machine you must turn it
off.
6.
You need to always watch where the fabric is going

The sewing machine can be used on any surface
