This document discusses proposed economical shelters for drought situations in northwestern Bangladesh. It first provides an overview of the drought conditions in the region, noting two prevalent types of drought caused by irregularities in rainfall. It then presents a proposed design for clustered shelters that can share resources to reduce costs. Each shelter would have a living area, kitchen, and toilet, along with rainwater collection and storage systems, solar power, insulation, and biogas from septic tanks for cooking. A detailed diagram shows components of an individual shelter, including a rain collection gutter, sand filter, ducting to a mutual underground water preserver and septic tank.
