A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the sun and Earth, casting its shadow on Earth and fully or partially blocking the sun's light in some areas. Students will be escorted outside at 8:00 to view the eclipse using pinhole projection, which projects the sun's image onto a surface through a small opening, allowing viewing without looking directly at the sun which can damage eyesight. Safety is important and students should only view the eclipse using the provided pinhole projection method.
