Becker College offers programs in psychology, education, and liberal arts. Their psychology and education programs provide a broad liberal arts education with a focus on areas like child behavior, mental illness, addiction, or behavioral disorders. Students can earn concentrations in elementary education, early childhood education, and applied behavior analysis. The elementary education concentration is a state-approved licensure program to teach grades 1-6. The early childhood education concentration provides preparation for teaching kindergarten through grade 2. The applied behavior analysis courses allow students to take the exam to become a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst. Becker also offers a certificate in alcoholism/drug counseling that meets state requirements for certification.

Graduates of our psychology and education programs
have a broad-based education in the liberal arts, with a

3. The Becker College Elementary
Education Concentration educates
students on becoming classroom leaders.
The concentration is a licensure program
approved by the Massachusetts
Department of Elementary and
Secondary Education that provides
preparation for certification to teach
grades 1 - 6 in inclusionary classrooms.
Becker College elementary education
concentration courses are designed to
meet criteria set by the National
Standards and the Massachusetts
Department of Elementary and
Secondary Education Standards.

4. Upon successful completion of stringent Applied Behavior Analysis courses and
intensive and supervised practica, Becker students are eligible to take the Behavior
Analyst Certification Board examination to become a Board Certified Assistant
Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).
Becker students gain skills necessary for working with children and adults diagnosed
on the autism spectrum, and assisting certified behavior analysts, who conduct
research or create behavior modification programs.

5. The Becker College Early Childhood Education
concentration is a licensure program approved by the
Massachusetts Department of Education, providing career
preparation for teaching kindergarten through Grade 2 (K-2).
Students become familiar with various strategies used to
guide children in developing vital social, language, and fine
motor skills. Methods for introducing kindergarten and early
elementary school children to studies such as language arts,
science, math, and social studies are also covered.

6. The Certificate in Alcoholism/Drug
Counseling meets the MBSACC
(Massachusetts Board of Substance Abuse
Counselor Certification) educational
requirements for the CADC level
Certification.
