East Anglia is a region in eastern England that includes the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, and parts of Essex. It has a generally mild climate with average annual temperatures around 10 degrees Celsius and rainfall of 25-50 cm per year. The landscape includes the Fens in the west which are flat and marshy, the Broads which feature lakes and rivers formed by medieval peat digging, and Breckland which has poor soils and is used for military training and farming. Major towns in the region include Norwich, Ipswich, King's Lynn, and Great Yarmouth.
