The Early Assessment Program (EAP) is an academic preparation program developed by the California Department of Education (CDE), the State Board of Education, and the California State University (CSU).
It will tell you if you are ready for college level English. If you pass, you get right in to your college level course!
If you don’t pass, you will be able to take it again when you get to college, but it does cost money. If you don’t pass it when you get to college, you could have to take up to 3 extra English classes that do not count towards graduation! This could cost you a couple thousand dollars and waste about a year of your time.
Never say never. Many people decide after high school that they want to go to college. Don’t shut the door before your more grownup self has decided what he/she really wants.
Cherise Emal Natalie Zachery

The EAP is scored by taking 45 items from the CST's (math and Language Arts) plus the 15 additional multiple choice EAP questions that you may do at the end of the tests. The Language Arts essay is scored by three separate readers.
Work on practice essays. > Pay attention to teacher/peer feedback. Do your best on your CST’s. Get to class on time the days of testing. Eat a good breakfast the day of testing. Get a full night’s sleep the night before testing.
