The students and teachers at E Prep middle school outperformed state averages on achievement tests in the 2008-2009 school year. E Prep's first graduating class of 100 8th graders are now placed in college preparatory high schools. A new mentoring program with Big Brothers Big Sisters will provide mentors for most of the 8th graders as they transition to high school. State funding for charter schools like E Prep will continue at about 2/3 of traditional public schools, avoiding further proposed cuts.
