1) The current education system fails to properly develop students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. It focuses too heavily on rote learning and lacks practical application.
2) Traditional education had merits like ensuring careers benefited society and families stayed close, but it deprived many of education. The transition to modern schooling failed to preserve these merits.
3) To address issues, the author proposes making education 20% each of production, physical activity, personality development, entertainment, and cognitive skills. This would make education more well-rounded and applicable to real life.

This document outlines 14 steps for studying human physiology, beginning from informal observation starting at conception through to professional academic study. Key aspects of the study include observing signs and symptoms in patients; correlating observations from daily life with structural and functional abnormalities; applying principles of physics and chemistry to explain interactions in the human body; and using technology like microscopes and various medical imaging and measurement techniques to further understanding. Hypothesis testing and asking questions are also emphasized.
The document discusses how one's perceptions and reactions to things are shaped by their personality and paradigm. Seeing something impressive can lead one to either desire it due to feeling it is beyond their reach, or to condemn it with a "sour grapes" reaction by deciding it is not worth the effort. Both reactions stem from pettiness. Forced acquisition or renunciation will not lead to satisfaction and can exploit oneself or others. True bliss comes from evolving one's life in a way that leads to individual and global blossoming through remembrance of God.

This is called the "videhi avasthaa" state of trans-physical, trans-physiological, and trans-psychological consciousness. The document discusses the author's childhood experiences visiting the Laxmi-Narayan temple in Walaval, India. As a child, the author began to question their beliefs after learning Marxist analysis but now sees family deities as an important part of developing cosmic consciousness over time. The author believes family deities introduce children to spiritual concepts and help guide them towards truth and blossoming throughout life.
The power of namasmaran dr. shriniwas janardan kashalikarkrupeshcha
The document discusses the power of Namasmaran (remembrance of the divine name). It addresses common questions about what benefits are gained from the practice. It argues that Namasmaran does not guarantee any specific gains and that practitioners still experience difficulties. Instead, Namasmaran serves to remind us of our true nature and identity beyond physical limitations, helping us overcome fear, insecurity, anxiety and feelings of helplessness. By realizing our inherent power and ownership through the practice, the usual questions about expected benefits become meaningless.

This document discusses facing death and making the most of life. It notes that when symptoms of death start appearing, one is lucky to know what they must do. It encourages taking advantage of the opportunity to do things closest to your heart and soul, and not feeling defeated by thoughts of impending death. Life and consciousness continue even after the body and conflicting thoughts vanish. The key is using the time one has to focus on meaningful activities through constant remembrance.
Shri laxmi narayan dr. shriniwas kashalikarkrupeshcha
The document describes the author's childhood visits to the Laxmi Narayan temple in Walaval, India. As a child, the author enjoyed the scenic drive through green areas and small shops selling snacks and tea. The centuries-old temple and nearby lake made strong impressions. As an adult, the author's beliefs drifted after learning Marxist analysis but they have since realized the importance of family deities in guiding individuals towards cosmic consciousness from a young age in a gentle way through participation in worship and cultural activities. Visiting the Laxmi Narayan temple continues to be a rejuvenating reminder of this guidance.
Stress and rules dr. shriniwas kashalikarkrupeshcha
A retired doctor was invited for an appointment at a medical college. However, during his interview he was told that according to the rules set by the apex body of doctors, he could only be appointed as a lecturer due to not having served as a lecturer for 4 years, despite having 26 years of experience as an associate professor and professor. The interviewers said they had no choice but to follow this rule established by the apex body. The doctor believed the rule was imposed to benefit doctors from certain states where members of the apex body worked, who generally served longer than 4 years as lecturers due to different promotion rules. This prejudiced rule caused stress for meritorious doctors and had a negative impact on their careers.
This document discusses the indescribable nature of spiritual experiences like self-realization. It explains that intellectual explanations of concepts like the beginning of the universe differ from spiritual explanations based on direct knowing and being. Descriptions of Brahman and the soul can seem erroneous without direct experience of the state of being. Similarly, concepts like love, peace, and a kind God are difficult to understand without experiencing them. True understanding comes from direct experience rather than lame explanations. Anxiety can be overcome through regular practice of remembrance of God and complete wakefulness, which allows one to transcend time and defective perceptions of past, present and future.
The document discusses three main points about spiritualism and the practice of namasmaran.
The first point is that forgetting yourself in memory of God through namasmaran helps free you from obsessive thoughts and feelings about yourself. The second point is that renouncing relationships through namasmaran allows you to see relationships more objectively over time. The third point is that different philosophical perspectives can be harsh, so it is important to ask questions, seek answers through one's own experiences, and verify answers through sadhana like namasmaran with patience.
New study of gita nov 11 dr. shriniwas j. kashalikarkrupeshcha
1) Dr. Shriniwas Kashalikar conducted a new study of the Bhagavad Gita and discusses his findings over multiple entries.
2) He finds that studying the Gita helps alleviate anxieties by revealing we are all moving towards the same goal. It fosters true love by removing impatience and expectations in relationships.
3) One difficulty in studying the Gita is doubting why truth needs to be shown by others, but the study helps realize that no one owns the truth and roles of teacher and student are relative.
Alcohol and tobacco dr. shriniwas kashalikarkrupeshcha
This document discusses alcohol and tobacco without focusing on their benefits or toxic effects, which are widely known. It argues that the fanatic righteousness of both supporters and opponents adds to problems rather than solving them. Instead of analyzing various angles and issues, the document is interested in the power of empowerment, enrichment, solace, stress management, fusion, bonding, unification, and uniting so-called sinners with the pious. It suggests that through NAMASMARAN (remembering the divine), everyone can experience these powers irrespective of habits or addictions, without guilt or pride.

Dr. Shriniwas Kashalika wishes all readers and friends a wonderful new year in 2010. He expresses gratitude for the tolerance and affection shown to him. Through his work, millions were able to freely read and download his books and articles on Namasmaran, Geeta, and Vishnusahasranam. He plans to wake early on New Year's Day to thank God for linking him with others and these spiritual texts, which help people rise above conflicts and come together in harmony.

The document discusses the need for lawmakers around the world to work together to update constitutions and laws to suit changing times. It suggests studying scriptures objectively to provide useful wisdom. Developing impartial laws that ensure universal justice requires pooling knowledge from various fields like philosophy, psychology, and biology, as well as inner cleansing to become more objective. All of this assertion is essential for managing stress holistically, achieving holistic health, and blossoming of both individuals and society through remembrance of the divine name.
Concept of holistic medicine dr. shriniwas kashalikarkrupeshcha
1) Holistic medicine emerges from the realization that different medical disciplines are interconnected rather than separate. It views the human body and health in a unified, comprehensive way.
2) Those who integrate or advocate for dialogue between different medical disciplines fit within the holistic approach. Those who rigidly adhere only to one discipline and oppose dialogue between disciplines take a narrow view.
3) Holistic medicine is trans-disciplinary - it is neither bound by nor opposed to any particular religion, culture, intellectual framework, or ideology. Its goal is to understand the multi-dimensional nature of life and health.
The common root of science, philosophy and behaviour dr. shriniwas kashalikarkrupeshcha
Superliving is the common root and culmination of science, philosophy and behavior. While science, philosophy and behavior may seem like different flowers, they share the same root of reality within us. Reaching the common root of creativity through practices like NAMASMARAN allows one to experience the oneness of all perspectives and enjoy life more fully, which is the essence of superliving.
The business of fear dr. shriniwas kashalikarkrupeshcha
Insurance companies, medical businesses, and other industries generate and spread unfounded fear to promote their products. This has led people to fear naturally occurring products like ghee, coconut oil, and salt, fueling alternative product businesses. However, financial gains from fear-based competition ultimately lead to widespread dissatisfaction, disturbance, and disease, threatening individual and global well-being. Spiritual growth through practices like remembrance of God's name may be needed for policies that ensure individual and global welfare.
Anxiety, restlessness and tension dr. shriniwas kashalikarkrupeshcha
The document discusses anxiety, restlessness, and tension. It states that true freedom is being in harmony with nature's rhythms and processes, not seeking instant gratification or indulgence. Practicing NAMASMARAN, or remembrance of the divine name, can help one achieve freedom from anxiety by enabling them to follow nature's innate and timed harmony.
Aging gracefully and victoriuosly dr shriniwas kashalikarkrupeshcha
The document discusses aging gracefully and victoriously. It provides several measures to achieve healthy aging, including being physically fit and independent, free from disease, and useful to society. Specific measures recommended are remembering God's name to stay oriented and not feel lonely, bathing twice daily, eating green vegetables and sprouts, drinking cow milk with turmeric and ginger, accepting people's self-interests without complaining, practicing pranayama and yoga, and accepting each moment with focus on God to realize one's true immortal self beyond the body.
Accidents holistic solutons dr. shriniwas kashalikarkrupeshcha
1) Accidents and other problems are caused by policies that prioritize production of private vehicles like cars and motorcycles over public transportation like buses and trains.
2) This leads to issues like increased fuel consumption, road wear and maintenance costs, pollution, traffic jams, accidents, overcrowding of public transportation and stress/tension for travelers.
3) The root cause is policies driven by private interests rather than public health; changing policies to prioritize and improve bus services would help reduce accidents and other issues in a holistic manner.
Stress affects both believers and non-believers due to conflicts between belief and disbelief and between personal and universal selves. This stress continues until one evolves past their petty self into a selfless, independent, and universal self through freedom from petty concerns. By prioritizing practices like NAMASMARAN amid daily life, one can experience total stress management and relief from internal and external stresses.
Stress spiritualism and materialism dr. shriniwas janardan kashalikarkrupeshcha
The document discusses the shortcomings of both spiritualism and materialism in managing stress. Spiritual discourses promise stress relaxation but are individualistic, utopian, and escapist, cutting people off from reality. Materialistic efforts towards social welfare are fragmented and superficial, not addressing root problems or satisfying one's soul. Both fanatical austerity and indulgence fail to offer holistic stress management for individuals and society. True spiritualism and materialism that ensure total stress management spring from remembrance of the divine name.
Defeating stress dr. shriniwas kashalikarkrupeshcha
This document discusses the causes of stress and how to defeat it. Stress is caused by a tug-of-war between our soul's attraction and temptations like romance, radicalism, indulgence, sex, fame and success. The Hindu dharma incorporates physical, emotional and intellectual needs towards self-realization. If one rebels against this way of life due to ignorance, they may become atheist, convert religions, become bohemian, or pursue illegal activities. However, this leads to violence, unhappiness and stress. NAMASMARAN, or good remembrance, reorients one's perspective through questing for the soul, defeating stress and leading to self-realization and the bloss
My stress dr. shriniwas janardan kashalikarkrupeshcha
1) The document discusses how corruption is ubiquitous and exists in varying degrees based on one's perspective and surroundings.
2) It states that corruption stems from degraded perspectives, thinking, feelings, and existence, and that the corruption of leaders influences individuals.
3) The corruption of international and national laws, traditions, media, and activities without concern for global welfare contributes to an individual's corruption according to their surroundings.
4) To overcome stress and corruption of perspective, the author advocates practicing NAMASMARAN, or remembrance of the divine name.
The document discusses the root causes of child labor and stress. It argues that the root cause is educational policies that are disconnected from productive skills and real-life needs. Students in mainstream education are cut off from productive domains and the education system relies too heavily on technology and books rather than practical skills. This leads children to drop out of unproductive education systems and become vulnerable to child labor. It suggests child labor can be stopped by making education nurture productive domains in addition to cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains. This requires decision makers to have a more objective and global perspective through the amalgamation of spiritualism and materialism.

The document discusses the importance of addressing socioeconomic factors in stress management and mental illness. It states that political and spiritual leaders will fail if they do not participate in addressing issues like poverty, unemployment, and competition that impact people's mental health. The document criticizes governments that promote alcohol production, saying it will lead to mass suicide and generations of suffering. It argues that the goal of all policies should be "NAMASMARAN", which is reorienting people to their cosmic consciousness through spiritual practices.
Brahmana dr. shriniwas janardan kashalikarkrupeshcha
Being a Brahmana is a continuous process of conscious and unconscious evolution through practices like chanting names of God. This evolution leads to holistic perspectives across politics, economics, education, health, agriculture and more that benefit individuals and society. As one progresses as a Brahmana, they help vitalize, promote, regulate and harmonize the other elements of society as described by Saint Dnyaneshwar, leading to the blossoming of individuals and the universe.
Technology siddhi and maya dr. shriniwas janardan kashalikarkrupeshcha
Technology has enabled many feats that were previously thought impossible. In spiritual traditions, these technological achievements are likened to "siddhis" or extraordinary powers. However, philosophy also views both the internal and external universe as "maya" or an illusion of changing reality rather than absolute truth.
While technology can reveal aspects of reality not otherwise visible, it also runs the risk of creating new illusions and delusions that can mislead. The absolute truth lies in cosmic consciousness, which can be experienced through constant remembrance and contemplation of the divine name or "namasmran."
World politics dr. shriniwas janardan kashalikarkrupeshcha
The document discusses a vision for world politics that promotes individual and global blossoming through cosmic consciousness. It outlines several areas that could be improved to more fully realize this vision, including adopting practices that promote holistic health, education focused on practical skills, integrating religious institutions more fully into society, and revising laws and policies to be less punitive and more restorative. Overall, the document proposes changes across many sectors of society aimed at fostering greater unity, well-being, and global cooperation.
Culture and language dr. shriniwas kashalikarkrupeshcha
The document discusses words in Indian languages related to nature and animals. Words like "Gomata" (mother cow), "Tulsi" (holy basil), and names of gods/goddesses like "Ganga Mata" (mother Ganga) convey a sense of adoration, love, respect and worship for nature. In contrast, words used in other societies for animals meant for consumption like "beef" for cow or "pork" for pig only convey craving for the utility of killing and eating those animals, reflecting the utilitarian perspective of those societies in their language.
Ghosts and namasmaran dr shriniwas kashalikarkrupeshcha
This document discusses ghosts, spirits, and the practice of namasmaran. It argues that modern medical experts do not fully understand phenomena like the mind. Whether such phenomena are described with modern terms like schizophrenia or traditional terms like ghosts, what matters is whether we can overcome them. The author believes that through the practice of namasmaran, as described in one's own tradition, various mental and other problems can be minimized. Namasmaran allows people to conquer issues seen as unexplainable and helps with individual and cosmic blossoming. As more people engage in namasmaran, disputes based on semantics will dissolve due to the shared sublime experience.
Vision of global blossoming dr shriniwas kashalikarkrupeshcha
This document outlines a vision for individual and global blossoming through various means such as practicing remembrance of God from childhood, promoting vegetarianism, and redefining holistic health. Some key aspects of this vision include holistic education that combines spiritual empowerment with practical skills; religious places incorporating education and productive activities; early morning routines to promote oral and dental health; sponsoring the memorization of hymns; and establishing laws that are formative rather than vindictive and conducive to holistic health and well-being for all. The vision also involves researching and teaching Sanskrit for the benefit of mankind and including the teachings of saints and reformers in curriculums.
Shri narayan dev walaval dr. shriniwas kashalikarkrupeshcha
The document discusses temples of kuladaivata or kuladevata deities in India. These deities are worshipped by different family groups and have temples in various villages. People periodically assemble at these temples to worship the deities according to local customs and traditions. The document argues that these deities are divine conduits to the ultimate truth. It also states that temple visits provide rejuvenation, enabling people to rise above petty concerns. The document advocates for more frequent worship and engagement at these temples through practices like namasmaran in order to reap holistic social benefits and rejuvenation.
More about equality dr. shriniwas kashalikarkrupeshcha
The document discusses the concept of equality and Namasmaran. It argues that imposing uniformity on things like culture, food, and salaries stems from misguided trends and does not lead to true equality. True equality embraces diversity and creating an environment where all can blossom. It describes Namasmaran as remembering the name of God, gurus, or other holy figures through practices like chanting, music, or alone time. Namasmaran helps reconnect one's true self with physiological self and leads to unification of individual consciousness with cosmic consciousness. It is considered the ultimate form of yoga and meditation.

HCL Notes and Domino License Cost Reduction in the World of DLAUpanagenda
Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-and-domino-license-cost-reduction-in-the-world-of-dlau/
The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
Join HCL Ambassador Marc Thomas in this webinar with a special guest appearance from Franz Walder. It will give you the tools and know-how to stay on top of what is going on with Domino licensing. You will be able lower your cost through an optimized configuration and keep it low going forward.

2. Most of us get disturbed by what is going on in
the field of education. But we do not understand
the causes of the chaos and the remedy for them.
We will be benefited if we review in brief the
concept of education and merits and demerits of
the traditional education system in brief.
Education is defined in various ways but it can be
safely said to have three domains, which are as
follows.
The first domain is called AFFECTIVE
DOMAIN. This means the state of mind. In
simple words affective domain relates to how we
feel. Thus when our mind is full of alertness,
attention, enthusiasm, buoyancy, affection,
concern, joy, tolerance, self esteem, mutual
respect, mutual trust, commitment, dedication,
confidence, positive and victorious spirit, we
would call it healthy affective domain. In addition
the zeal and concentration needed in the pursuit
3. of excellence in intellectual field, tenacity and
endurance required in skillful activities and
patience and commitment essential for satisfying
and socially beneficial actions constitute affective
domain. The purpose of education is to nurture
this domain by designing suitable curricula and
syllabi.
The second domain of education is called
PSYCHOMOTOR DOMAIN. This implies
ability to appreciate skills and ability to perform
physical and mental skills, with speed, accuracy,
elegance, ease of performance etc. This may
involve appreciation and performance of skills
such as surgery, playing a musical instrument,
playing basket ball or doing carpentry! The
purpose of education is to nurture this domain
through not only designing suitable curricula,
syllabi but also by providing sufficient practical
and demonstration classes with all the necessary
equipment.
4. The third domain is called COGNITIVE
DOMAIN. Cognitive domain incorporates
accurate perspective, contemplation, correct
perception understanding, conceptualization,
analysis and recall of problems, ability to
evaluate, synthesize, correlate and make
decisions, appropriate policies, plans and
expertise in the management, administration, etc.
It is clear that all the domains have three
components viz. Cognition [Perception], affect
[Feelings] and conation [Response].
Let us consider the traditional system in a
dispassionate manner and scrutinize the merits
and demerits. It is obvious that we will not be
able to consider all the details of the system as
they varied from time to time and from place to
place. But a general review of the system would
help us to overcome our disturbance!
5. This can be done only if we rise above the petty
considerations of religion, region, caste, political
power and other vested interests. This would help
us rectify the present education system.
Conversely, unless the existing education system
is rectified appropriately subsequent generations
may not be able to develop the three domains of
education adequately.
Many of you may argue here that this task can not
be accomplished by common people, but can be
successfully accomplished only by the politicians,
political advisors, the decision-makers and the
top administrators.
This argument is valid, but not completely. It has
to be appreciated that no statesman, no political
leader, no policy maker and no administrator can
bring about change in an existing system unless,
there is consensus about these changes in the vast
6. majority of people whose cooperation in such
matters is very vital.
So let us take at least a cursory look at the
traditional system of education in India.
The traditional education system in India in
general ensured that:
a] Careers were not selected on the basis of
monetary gains,
b] Careers were not selected arbitrarily on the
basis of idiosyncrasies and whims,
c] Some lucrative careers could not be sought
after obsessively, in preference to the others,
d] All careers ensured income and production
from early age,
e] All careers ensured that society was benefited,
f] All careers ensured security to all the social
groups,
g] All the careers ensured intimacy and closeness
between young and old in the families.
7. h] All careers ensured ethical education and
passage of experience from generation to
generation.
In my view these were merits.
(But it is also true that: The traditional system
was apparently marked by deprivation of
scholastic education on mass scale, apparently
unjustifiable distribution of a variety of jobs,
deficient infrastructure for collective scientific
and technological efforts, an element of arbitrary
imposition of hierarchy and).
But the point here is to see how the transition
from traditional system to the present one has
failed to preserve and nurture the merits and
discard the demerits and thereby lead to
multiplication of problems!
As the education shifted from homes, home
industries and farms to; nurseries, K.G. schools,
8. schools, colleges, universities, corporate
industries, research institutions etc.
Cognition suffered because of:
a] Huge number of students, in a single class
making following three things almost impossible.
These things are i] individual attention ii]
dialogue iii] discussions,
b] Lack of adequate salary, accountability,
incentive and economic security to the teachers
taking away the initiative of nurturing cognitive
domain
c] Increase in alienation with respect to student’s
background and aptitude
d] Lack of adequate incentive to the students in
the form of creativity, production and earning,
service to the family and service to the nation,
takes away the motivation required for building
up cognitive domain
e] Lack of conviction essential in the growth of
cognitive domain in the teachers and students
because of outdated practical and demonstration
9. classes, lack of interdisciplinary dialogue and in
general the irrelevance of education to the
realities of day to day life in as much as almost
predictable consecutive unemployment at the
end! The lack of conviction could be partly due to
lack of participation by teachers in decision-
making, policy making, development of curricula,
syllabi etc.
f] Emphasis on recall and hence rote learning
thereby denying free inquiry, reading,
questioning etc. thereby directly thwarting the
cognitive domain
g]] Too many examinations with irrelevant
parameters or criteria of evaluation [besides being
unfair in many instances] lead to misguided and
in most cases counterproductive efforts thus
adversely affecting the cognitive domain
h] Competitions where the manipulative skills,
callousness, selfishness are given more respect,
destroy the enthusiasm of growing in cognitive
domain
10. i] Information explosion can affect cognitive
domain by either causing enormous and
unnecessary burden on memory or inferiority
complex
j] Pressure of interviews causing constant tension
and sense of inadequacy, right from the tender
age,
k] Protracted hours of homework in schools
denying the students their legitimate right to
enjoy their childhood and make them physically,
mentally and intellectually unfit to grow in
cognitive domain
l] Irrelevant and unnecessary information loading
in lectures in the form of monologue, leading to
suppression of the spontaneity, originality,
interest and enthusiasm so much required in
cognitive development amongst the students,
Affective domain suffered due to,
11. A] Isolation of the children from their parents and
their domestic environment at an early age
[Making the parents also equally sad]
B] Lack of warm bonds due to huge number,
C] Cut throat individualistic and petty
competition,
D] Inadequate facilities of sports, trekking,
educational tours, recreation and physical
development etc
E] Alienation from one’s social environment and
culture
Psychomotor domain suffered due to
A] Almost total lack of opportunities to actually
participate in skillful activities such as drawing,
painting, sewing, sculpturing, carpentry, knitting,
weaving, music, agriculture, horticulture, other
handicrafts, various sports, performing arts etc.
It is important to realize that promotion of
psychomotor domain is evident but in its
caricature form. It has no concrete economic
12. realistic basis. The activities have no economic
incentive and no productive element.
The present education system in India;
basically and almost completely prevents a
huge section of society such as teachers,
students, clerks, servants, sweepers and many
others such as education inspectors, etc. from
being creative and productive. In addition it
causes colossal loss of space, electricity,
construction cost and so on. In addition
because of the typical emphasis on rote
learning it leads to phenomenal waste of
educational material such as paper, bags,
pencils, ball pens etc.
Lack of productive element in education not only
causes colossal loss to nation but it also causes
economic loss to children while suppressing and
starving their psychomotor domain! The lack of
13. productive element and economic incentive is a
single most important cause of
1] Reduction in the dignity of labor amongst
those who continue to learn, as well as reduction
in the income of the concerned families and the
nation
2] Lack of education, lack of employment and
starvation or criminalization amongst those who
are forced to drop out because the poor villagers’
children normally contribute to the earning of the
family.
3] Inhuman suffering of those dropouts, who
somehow manage to get into cheap labor for
subsistence.
It has to be appreciated that billions of rupees
are spent on construction, decoration and
maintenance of schools and colleges. Billions
more are spent on payment of millions of
teachers and other staff members engaged in
unproductive exercises. Billions are spent on
electricity, and so called educational material.
14. Billions more are spent on the exams
conducted to test the “capacity and merit of
rote learning”. This way we weaken the
national economy, jeopardize the
developmental activities and force millions of
students to drop out due to economic reasons
and get into the hell of child labor, besides
starving and suppressing the cognitive,
affective and psychomotor domains of
millions. In short, present day education
system harnesses [amongst those who continue
to learn] arrogance coupled with lack of
confidence leaving all the domains viz.
cognitive, psychomotor and affective,
[including creative and productive skills and
physical health] defective, deficient and
underdeveloped. Further, when this education
fails to give a job, it tends to create vindictive
attitude transforming an individual into a
criminal or develops frustration and
transforms an individual into a mental wreck.
15. It must be appreciated that some institutions and
individuals are making illustrious efforts in the
direction of rectifying the education at their level.
But the chaos in the present education and the
resultant conceptual stress cannot be managed
effectively, unless we propagate this conceptual
understanding about education and try to see that
suitable changes are made to nurture cognitive,
affective, psychomotor and productive domains
all over the world.
In short it can be stated that every school, college,
university etc must become the centers of
production and service besides being centers
excellence in science, art, literature, philosophy
etc.
The student must have economic incentive for
what he/she is privileged to make. Besides,
everybody connected with education directly or
16. indirectly must be involved in production or
service.
Everyday approximately
20 % of the time must be spent in production,
service etc.
20 % of the time must be spent in physical
activities
20 % of the time must be spent in personality
development and
20 % of the time must be spent in entertainment
20 % of the time must be spent on cognitive
domain
Production may be of suitable items and service
can involve community projects such plantation,
cleanliness etc.
Physical activities can include sports, exercise,
trekking, hiking etc.
Personality development refers to broadening of
perspective through various means such as
invited guest lectures, seminars, discussions on
holistic health, educational tours and visits to
17. places where the student gets exposed to rapid
developments in the society such as laboratories,
airports, government offices, share market, farms
etc.
Entertainment could include playing musical
instruments, dance, painting or anything that
makes a student happy such as mimicry, singing,
story telling, drama, movie etc.
Development of cognitive domain can include
teaching of languages, history, geography,
mathematics etc with utmost emphasis on
interpretation and relevance in day to day life.
Thus typical questions in the examination of
history, languages should be totally done away
with. The subject such as economics, psychology,
civics, philosophy, logic, sociology etc must
include field work and made relevant to the
present society.
Conceptual stress arising out of chaos in
education can not be managed effectively unless
18. and until a situation where millions are
“imprisoned” in unproductive work and millions
are forced into unemployment and inhuman
cheap child labor is eradicated through law and
government rules, besides public awareness.
The details of practical steps can be developed
by interactions amongst the people active in
the field of education all over the world.
DR. SHRINIWAS KASHALIKAR
