The lockout ended in 1914 when Larkin and Connolly were rejected from the TUC. Workers refused to join the union even when back at work, badly damaging the ITGWU. The lockout left deep bitterness between employers and workers, and workers and police, which personally and politically affected many future Irish political figures in the following years.
