Clayton Sutherland was an excellent graphic design lecturer at AAA School of Advertising from 1993 to 2004, where he was promoted to Faculty Head of Visual Communications in 2000. During his time at AAA, he distinguished himself as an academic leader and contributed greatly to the school's success in developing programs and winning awards. Since 2004, Clayton has been involved in developing degree programs at Vega and Stellenbosch Academy of Photography and Design, where he currently serves as Program Director for the BA in Visual Communication program.

CLAYTON SUTHERLAND
I met Clayton Sutherland in 1999 when I joined AAA School of Advertising. At
that time he had already been with AAA School since 1993. Clayton is an
excellent Graphic Design lecturer and we promoted Clayton to the position of
Faculty Head: Visual Communications in 2000. He held this position with distinction
until he moved to Vega The Brand Communications School in 2004.
During 1999 and 2004 Clayton distinguished himself as an academic leader and
he contributed greatly to AAA's success in developing viable academic
programmes to achieve our mission (i.e. to deliver employable graduates). He also
contributed largely to our success in being the most awarded advertising school at
local and international awards (e.g. Loeries, Pendoring, Goldpack etc).
Since leaving AAA School of Advertising Clayton Sutherland became heavily
involved in developing undergraduate degree curricula at Vega and especially at
Stellenbosch Academy of Photography and Design.
Here the challenge was to direct the focus from fine art to a much more
vocationally and commercial visual communication platform.
As one of the academic leaders at Stellenbosch Academy Clayton is currently the
Programme Director of the BA Visual Communication
programme.
