THE PROBLEM
“I need to capture more of this event but I don’t the time or the effort! I have other things I need to focus on.”
2
Photographers should be easily accessible and on-demand.
I BELIEVE…The problem I suspect is that people want to take pictures of their experiences
at events but don’t want to go through the trouble of finding and booking
professional photographers then having to manage them from end to end.
Based on my surveys, people are willing to pay for quality
photography service.
QUALITY PHOTOS…
Photographers are willing to put in time and effort if they are
able to make extra money on the side.
EXTRA INCOME FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS….

Key Findings:
1. Our service has to provide fast
bookings to be feasible as a source
of income.
2. Profiles should show capability and
reliability.
3. People were very excited about our
platform. It lowers the cost of
photography, and as a business
model it saves people time.
4. Have the photos directly accessible
in the app as the photos being
taken. (our moat)

Franklin Kopper
Construction Worker
“Life is really simple, but we insist on
making it complicated.”
BACKGROUND
Franklin is the type of person who takes cares of things on his
own terms. Whenever there is a leak in the house, or in any of
their neighbor’s houses actually, Franklin is the first one to step
in and help. He lives with his girlfriend who is the same age as
him. He expects a lot from himself, he is almost like a
perfectionist, so whenever he takes his girlfriend out, he always
tries to make sure his girlfriend is having a good time. He makes
modest amounts of money so he relies on services such as Uber
to cover things he doesn’t want to worry about.
Scenario: He has booked a reservation at the local steak house
on a Saturday night, he has told his girlfriend Stacy that it’s going
to be a romantic night so they should both dress for the
occasion. He wants to take photos of their night because he is
secretly going to marry her but knows how long it takes to find
and manage a professional photographer. He is looking for
options.

Stacy Kim
Freelance Photographer
“I love photographing. It’s that simple.”
BACKGROUND
Stacy is a recent high school graduate, she is both hardworking
and hip. She has always maintained great grades while at the
same time keeping up with her passion for photography. She
actually has a good amount of work in her portfolio, some from
helping out her family and friends, while others were from
references gained with the help of her teachers. She’s now a
freshman in her local community college.
Scenario: Stacy has finally gotten out of school for the day, as
she is headed home in the bus, she contemplates the amount of
homework she has to finish before she can get her weekend
started. It’s been like this for about 3 to 5 months now ever since
she started college. She is still thinking about how she is trying to
find time to pursue her passion in photography. She knows she’s
a full-time student who works at the Student Center at her
school. How can she find time to pursue her passion while
making money on the side?

Six Categories For Mental Mapping -
Client, Photographer, Publish Event, Active Event, Past
Event, and Photos.
INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE
Facing Who? “Publish Event” is client facing but
both the “Active Event” and “Past Event” should
be both the client and photographer facing.
Photos stood out. They are something that can
be accessed anywhere within the app since they
are the main content for all categories.
Priority Profiling. Photographer and Client
profiles seemed similar to me, however, clients
don’t take photos, nor do they have any
portfolios to show.

USABILITY TESTS

11
Login and Sign Up was intuitive. Jumping
right into seeing each photographer talent
highlighted the application’s main strength.
ONBOARDING
Information on the photographer was clearly
presented. Event profiles seemed easy to
understand.
USER INTERFACE
Being able to view, share, or download the
photos while the event is active was a major
plus.
CONTENT ACCESSIBILITY
The ever-present “Create an Event” icon at
the top right didn’t tie in to which
photographer was being chosen.
CHOOSING A PHOTOGRAPHER
The swipe down feature in the Event profile
to showcase the map was not intuitive
enough for the user to know that it’s
accessible.
WHERE WAS THE EVENT AGAIN?
Once again, the Event profile didn’t highlight
who was actually shooting the event.
