A young bus enthusiast named Simranpal Kandola created a charity to improve bus reputations in the West Midlands after recent attacks tarnished their image. He was inspired by his use of buses to travel between his parents' homes. Though initially skeptical it would succeed, the charity raised over £570,000 in just a month, far exceeding expectations. Impressed by this success, Simranpal plans to start his own bus company to further shape and celebrate public transportation.

1. What got you interested in buses?- “I got interested in buses
because my parents are separated and I use the bus to travel
between each house. As time went on I got more interested and I
was soon able to identify buses by their engines and it progressed
from there.”
What was the main reason for your decision to make this charity?
“I decided to do this because I wanted to improve bus reputations
before it was too late, without buses I would have to use other
forms of transport when I would much rather ride buses because
they are a big part of my life.”
Did you expect to raise as much as you did for the charity?
“To be completely honest, I didn’t have much hope of success for
my charity however I tried as hard as I could to get results. when I
first started only £250 was raised by 2 weeks so I wasnt optimistic
that it would make a huge difference then it suddenly grew and in
just a week £100,000’s were donated, I was speechless.”
What do you plan to do in the future considering this success?
“In the future I plan to create my own bus company to mark my
name on public transport so that I am able to proudly say that
I shaped bus travel for the better and become a famous name
though-out the whole bus community.”
We interveiwed simranpal about what made him want to attempt
this almost impossible challenge and why he got interested in
buses despite his young age.

2. Celebrating the
BIG REDSThis month an interesting story has arisen out of nowhere, a young bus
enthusiast by the name of simranpal Kandola has sweeped the internet
by storm with his actions within the west midlands. He has single hand-
edly created one of the largest bus charities in decades and it greatly
favoured the Tridents that have recently had some bad press becuase
of incidents that have occured on them.
In light of the recent attacks on buses in
the west midlands this month reputations
have been tarnished due to fear.
Of all of the buses, the worst effected
was the double decker tridents since
they are the most frequent model of bus
in that area and this young enthusiast
couldn’t stand for it.
In an attempt to repair the tarnished
name of public transport he set up a
charity with co-operation and funding
from the companies National Express and
Arriva to setup multiple fundraisers to
make buses more popular again and raise
awareness for the charity.
It was a huge success because not only
has it currently raised over £570,000 but
more and more people have created bus
charities greatly improving the favourabil-
ity of buses in just a month.
