This document introduces three famous artworks: Abaporu by Brazilian artist Tarsília do Amaral, which was influential in Brazilian modernism; Girl with Pearl Earring by Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer from 1665, often considered the 'Mona Lisa of the North'; and The Scream by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch from 1893, which has become a cultural icon representing the expressionist movement.
