4. The problem
In the past families used to have a family doctor, an intimate person who knew
about the history of the family diseases and cared for that entire family.
Nowadays the healthcare system is fragmented, the role of the family doctor
has decreased significantly, patients seek a doctor for each kind of disease,
and in practice the doctors hardly talk to each other.
Although advancements in communication technology has given healthcare
professionals new tools to close communication gaps, patient care is delayed
due to inefficient systems and workflow, health information is being scattered all
around and doctors are entangled in a web of devices and documentation.

5. The problem
Existing software solutions focus in the efficiency of the provider's processes, for example
making provider's financial and day-to-day operations easier, and don't take the patient's
needs into account. Our cloud-based solution focus on patient empowerment, placing
patients at the center of the process, enabling them to schedule appointments, receive
test results straight from the lab and upload past ones; share information and even chat
with practitioners. The patient wants to be the owner of his information and the
protagonist in his care process, and that is what our solution enables.

14. Frederico Szmukler Tannenbaum
Co-founder and CEO of DocPad. Specialized in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Development by Tel
Aviv University, holds an undergraduate degree in Product Design from PUC-Rio. Awarded with the
Prize for Distinction in the Scientific Initiation Program 2011. Has experience in the development of
electronic products, branding, graphic design and ambient design. Idealized and developed the first
version of DocPad at Startup Rio
Miguel Angelo Gaspar, PhD
Co-founder and CTO of DocPad. Master in Communications and Signal Processing and PhD in
Intelligent Decision Support Systems from PUC-Rio.
Inventor and entrepreneur has vast experience in software development using C++ and Java.
Idealized and developed the first version of DocPad at Startup Rio, a public-private initiative of the
State of Rio de Janeiro to transform Rio de Janeiro in an international hub for digital technology.

the health of People over 60 years. Graduated in Product Design at PUC-Rio (2011). Worked as user
