The learner demonstrates an understanding of the law of supply and demand, and factors affecting the
economic situation.

The learners shall be able to conduct a survey of current economic situations within the vicinity. C.

5. Analyze the effects of contemporary issues such as migration, fluctuations in the exchange rate, oil
price increases, unemployment, peace and order, etc. on the purchasing power of the people
D. Learning Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
1. Analyze how demand and supply forces can affect the value of the Philippine peso in
relation to foreign currencies;
2. Relate population growth the country’s labor supply and apply the law of demand and
supply in the determination of wages of labor
3. Apply the law of supply and demand to Philippine housing shortage and show how this
has led to the real estate boom in the country
