2. Distribution Company
For my media product I would use a mainstream distributor – for example
‘Frontline’.
Frontline is the biggest magazine distributor in the UK, therefore it basically
controls the magazine selling market. It currently distributes 58/200 best
publications. As a company they aim to create the maximum opportunities at a
minimum cost. They connect their publishers’ knowledge of their readers with
the retailers’ understanding of their shoppers in order to develop effective
strategies for driving magazine sales. Their small size belies the significant
influence they exert over a huge industry, which turns over nearly £2bn per
annum and employs thousands of people.
3. NME
‘NME’ is a magazine that is distributed by Frontline.
It shares similar genres of music as my magazine and
I chose to predominantly base my magazine around
this one. It is produced monthly in London. This
certain magazine is published through the
Haymarket sector of the distribution process.

I have chosen to use this strategy of distribution because the retailers
involved are typically where my target audience would shop. Also because it
is a successful distributor there is a high chance of sale and profit. I will try
to use multi platform strategy to also improve profit by making a website for
the publication.
