This document provides an acknowledgements section and abstract for a bachelor's thesis on evaluating the effectiveness of the Female Genital Mutilation Act 2003 and the Serious Crime Bill 2014-15 in combating female genital mutilation in the UK. The thesis contains 4 chapters that will analyze the UK's legal position and international obligations, examine the provisions of the 2003 Act, assess the new provisions in the 2014 Bill, and discuss the need for legal and non-legal cooperation. It aims to determine why the 2003 Act failed and whether the new Bill will provide adequate remedies.
