First described by
Hingorani and
Mehta (1952,delhi)
Severe in
KA,TN,HP,&MH
Loss up to 50-
80%
4.
5. SYMPTOM
Appearance of dark coloured irregular water
soaked lesins/oily spots on leaves
Spots measures 2-5mm in D
Then the leaves
distorted,malformed&premature defoliation
Raised spots are seen on fruits which are
irregular
Then dark spots appeared on twigs and nodes
causes nodal blight
Cracking of infected fruits-star,X,Y,T shaped
cracking
6. Temp-25-30°C
RH-35-80%
Free water on surface to initiate disease
PSI-Infected planting material&plant debris
SSI-Wind & rain splash
Cantaminating tools & pollinating insect
7. Use disease free planting materia
Remove & Burnt the affected plant parts
Provide proper spacing-4.5*3.0 m
First year bearing flower shouid be removed
One crop per year is good, either Hasta
bahar(september-october)or Ambe(january-
february)
8. Before pruning spray 1% bordex mixer to reduce
leaf infection
Pruning knief, secature should be disinfected after
every cutting in Sodium hypochlorid for @25ml/lit
solution
After pruning paste the stem with streptocyclin
0.5g/l+red oxide/red soil 200gm
9. Anthracnose- Collectotricum
gleosporiodes
Symptom
Initially water soaked lesions on leaves ,flowers
and fruits
Later turn to sunken ,brown, necrotic depressed
spots
Development of black corky appearance which

plant
Longitudinal splitting of stem
Grayish discoloration of vascular tissues
Bluish patches can be seen on bark
Galls on secondary & tertiary roots
(nematode infection)
Pin holes on external&internal surface(Shot
hole borer)
14.
15. Survive in soil,infected planting material,infected
stalks
More severe in black soil&ill drained soil
Spreds by irrigation,runoff water,agriculture
impliments &root cantact
16. Provide proper spacing-4.5*3.0m
Maintain proper drainage,Drip irrigation is
good
Sandy loamy soils are good for planting
Use of healthy planting materials
Infected plant shouid be drenched with
Carbendazim 50WP(2g/l) or
Propiconozole25EC(2ml/l)
Application of Phorate 20g/tree
17. Symptom
Small reddish brown ,circular spots appear on
the fruits
As the disease advances these spots coalese
to form larger patches
Then fruits starts Rotting
The arils affected which become unfit for
consumption
18.
19. Disease Cycle
PSI-Plant debris, leaves ,fruits
SSI-Air born conidia
Management
All affected fruit should be collected &destroyed
Spraying of Dithane M-45(0.25%)
20. Symptoms
Round black spots on fruits&petiole
Disease starts from calyx end gradualy the
entire fruit shows black spots
Then fruits further rots emitting foul odour
21.
22. DISEASE CYCLE

Controled by spraying of Bavistin(0.2%) or Dithen
M-45(0.25%) 0r Dithen Z-78(0.25%) @an interval of
10-15 days from the onset of flowering
