This rubric outlines the criteria and scoring for discussion posts in an online course between weeks 1-8. Students can earn up to 20 points per week for their discussion posts and responses to other students. The rubric assesses students on quality, participation, critical thinking, timeliness, and netiquette. Students are scored on a scale from 1 (beginning) to 4 (strong) for each category based on meeting expectations and going beyond expectations in terms of depth, clarity, analysis, synthesis, and respect for others.
